DO NOT EAT HERE!! I went with my friend for a late lunch. The waitress we had was very friendly and nice. She noted that all the food is made and comes out fresh so we had high hopes. But the food was awful. My friend got the sweet and sour chicken which she could not even finish because of how bad it tasted. I got ribs, (which were extremely dry), the rainbow roll and the veg gyoza. I could not eat the ribs because they were so dry and did not taste fresh at all. The gyoza were also not great but I finished them purely because I was so hungry. The sushi was okay at first but after eating a few I began to feel quite ill. My friend also tried one and did not feel good either. The waitress was kind enough to take the ribs and the chicken off the bill because we simply could not finish them because of how bad it tasted. I ended up having to go to the bathroom to throw up after eating a good portion of the sushi and when it came time to pay I told the waitress I was happy to pay but just to let you know I just threw up so it might be worth checking the food is fresh. She was nice but went to call her manager who came to the table and was dismissive and rude asking me what I had eaten earlier that day as if it was something else that caused me to throw up. I used to come to this place often but the quality has seriously declined over the years!!! I COULD NOT URGE YOU ENOUGH TO...
Read moreA disappointing experience. We came here to celebrate my partner's birthday which coincided with the final day of Rishi Sunak's Eat Out to Help Out initiative.
We were shown to a table that we weren't particularly happy with and asked to sit in a both that was empty. We were told we couldn't move as the system allocates tables.
We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. The food arrived about 20 minutes later, we asked again for our drinks which arrived soon after with the apology that it takes a long time to make a mocktail. There was only one drink that the barman had to make, the others were ready made and just needed to be delivered to the table.
Most of the food was nice but the pork and pancakes was very dry and virtually inedible. When we complained about that dish and the service the gentleman who I assume to be the manager just announced that there wasn't anything he could do as we were getting 50% off. We weren't there for the discount and although I explained that it wasn't the restaurant giving the discount but the UK government, he just shrugged and apologised.
I've eaten in Nudo but we thought we'd try this place as it's part of the same company and expected a similar experience. This experience has put me off eating in any of their...
Read moreEither I got really unlucky, or the food here is simply nowhere near the standard of other Asian restaurants nearby (Waga, Butakun, St Sushi, Manaza and Kimchi Planet are all excellent).
Went for the Restaurant Week 3 course meal, but ended up cancelling the final course because I was not impressed with the starter and main. I went for the garlic pork ribs (very dry, not much meat, tastes like pork scratchings), and the tonkotsu beef shin ramen (tasted vaguely fishy and nothing like any tonkotsu I've ever had. I couldn't even go at the noodles. Legitimately the only bad ramen I've ever eaten.)
My partner has a tofu curry rice dish which was pretty tasty, and some salt & pepper tofu (which was decent, but I've had much better from local takeaways for a fraction of the price).
I give an additional star because the staff were pleasant and helpful, and after my feedback they agreed to give me a partial refund, which is really nice of them. Thank you for that. I certainly can't complain about the service here.
I'm sorry to say it, but I wouldn't recommend this place. I had initially hoped to try the main menu sometime, but tonight's food really put me off the idea of paying more here. Especially when there are so many top tier Asian...
