Popped in earlier today having had Paddy for a walk on the Moor. I needed the ladies and, as the sky looked very threatening, I decided we'd stay for a while. We had a lovely sit & I gave Pad a drink; he'd been round and "spoken" to people as usual, looking to be petted. He made loads of new friends and I decided to order a hot chocolate. It was delicious; cream and marshmallows for extra lovlieness. The staff were lovely and friendly, the atmosphere fab, the mid-century vintage suede seats were so comfy, I was reluctant to leave, but unfortunately a bunch of self-important Jesmondites arrived with dogs who are clearly just status symbols; the wire-haired German pointer was grasped repeatedly by its muzzle (nose, for the uninitiated) by its owner who doesn't understand how dogs communicate, ie they don't speak English. They're dogs! and the ubiquitous cockerpoo owner who also believed she was important. From the snotty blonde with the pointer, to the roly-poly drama queen who assumed his place at the head of the table, they were just obnoxious and so superficial. It must be wonderful to assume such superiority over the rest of us. What a waste of skin. Lovely visit on the whole, and it's a sad fact that popular places always attract such self-important empty vessels. They won't prevent my going back, not for hot...
Read moreI was shocked by how good this place was. I went for a drink after a long walk in the park.
It’s located right in the park, right across from lots of jungle gyms for kids of all ages. Wonderful park also.
I can see how this place can be busy. I went In for a drink, got a full meal and I’m happy I did. The prices were average. Cheaper than I’d expect for the location but not the cheapest. They have a detailed kids menu also.
I got a BBQ burger. Was not expecting what arrived. It was a great display on a wood plank with salad, coleslaw and chips. Like a bistro.
The burger was great. I like when chefs just cook a beef patty, well. No frills just a good quality burger, That what it was.
The staff was so nice and inviting.
Really a pleasure going there. I’ll 100% be back.
I noticed they have a BBQ outside, Would love to come along for that. I’ll be looking at events there because they have fun menus for special occasions, example being a Halloween menu.
Sat outside....
Read moreLocated in Exhibition Park a bright, clean, modern café that was superbly welcoming with exceptionally helpful staff. I stopped for a well earned cuppa and a couple of glasses of chilled water here whilst participating in the Shaun on the Tyne sculpture trail in August 2023. The weather was glorious by the time I'd walked to this particular location. Serving drinks, snacks, light bites, Stozza's, and ice-cream. Takeaway available. Note that payment is card only. It had all the facilities required including charging points for devices. Fully accessible venue with indoor and outdoor seating. Family friendly, you can see the young people's play areas clearly from the outdoor seating. Definitely somewhere I would walk out to again. The park itself is also stunning. I noticed it has various events on, is popular with dog walkers, and...
