Visited for breakfast with my partner, was given unclear instructions on how to order - everyone was pleasant, however when approached by one of the workers asking if we had ordered, I said ‘not yet’ to which she bluntly and (quite frankly) rudely responded ‘we’re open til five, you know?’ and walked away. This would’ve been fine as a joke if she told us how to order, but since we weren’t greeted by any staff, we didn’t know.
My partner ordered a full english, and the quality of the ingredients were good, however £16 for one sausage and two rare bits of bacon is a bit steep for up north. I ordered the ‘açai’, which was a lovely greek yoghurt bowl with not one drop of açai. I would appreciate true advertising as although the menu did state it had some greek yoghurt, my lactose intolerant self didn’t know I would just be getting a bowl of that. Plus side, fruit and honey were both really fresh and plenty yummy granola. Would we return? No. This is only due to the pricing and misinformation on the menu - coffee was really nice, and my partner may pop back for...
Read moreHad an absolutely smashing time at Willi's Cafe Jesmond the other day! Tucked away on Clayton Road, this place is a proper gem. I went for the full English breakfast, and my word, it was spot-on – crispy bacon, perfectly cooked eggs, and a sausage that had me grinning from ear to ear. The atmosphere’s bang on, with a cozy, welcoming vibe and decor that’s just the right side of trendy. The staff were an absolute delight, all smiles and cracking service, making sure my cuppa was topped up without me even asking. Loved the homemade cakes on display – grabbed a slice of their Victoria sponge to take away, and it was pure heaven. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a bit longer. Willi's is a proper treat, and I’ll be back before you can say “another round of...
Read moreLight, airy and welcoming. Dog friendly. Stripped wooden floors with sage green paintwork. First impressions very nice. I thought the food was on the expensive side, even taking into consideration it’s location in the unfathomably extortionate area of Jesmond. Some wonderful cakes on offer. I paid £8.50 for a sausage and fried egg roll with a breakfast tea. Probably the best value for money on the menu. It was very nice though! Everything looked very clean. Unfortunately I did have to ask to exchange my cup as it had lipstick on it. I did also notice a member of staff constantly biting nails and touching facial piercings and hair. Although not handling food was handling cutlery and crockery. Staff were happy and friendly! Sadly...
