Review of Pizza Express, Newquay
Located just on the edge of the bustling Newquay town strip, Pizza Express offers a surprisingly lively dining experience, especially considering the summer season. The restaurant was busier than I expected, likely due to the peak tourist period, but the service was still exceptional, which is a testament to the staff's efficiency and dedication.
Ambiance and Views One of the highlights of Pizza Express in Newquay is its fantastic balcony views. Diners can enjoy a picturesque overlook of the surfers riding the waves below, which adds a unique touch to the dining experience. On clear days, the view must be even more breathtaking, with the sunset painting the sky with vivid colors. Even with some clouds, the setting provides a delightful atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal while soaking in the coastal charm.
Food and Menu The food at Pizza Express was excellent. The menu offers a variety of delicious options that cater to different tastes, and it's clear that the quality of ingredients and preparation is a priority here. What stood out was their attentiveness to special dietary needs. I have specific allergen requirements, and the staff was accommodating, ensuring that my meal was prepared to meet these needs without compromising taste or quality. This level of care and consideration is commendable and greatly appreciated.
Service Service at Pizza Express was outstanding. Despite the high volume of customers, the staff managed to maintain a friendly and efficient service. The lady who served us was particularly delightful, ensuring that we felt welcome and attended to throughout our visit. Our orders were taken promptly, and the food arrived at our table much quicker than expected. The staff's professionalism and warmth significantly enhanced our dining experience.
Conclusion Overall, Pizza Express in Newquay offers an excellent dining experience, combining great food, attentive service, and stunning views. The restaurant's ability to handle the summer rush without sacrificing quality or service speaks volumes about their dedication to customer satisfaction. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this spot is definitely worth a visit, especially if you're looking to enjoy some delicious pizza while taking in the scenic beauty of Newquay's coastline. Kudos to the team for their hard work and for making our visit memorable. We look forward to returning, hopefully on a clear day, to catch one of those...
Read moreVisited Pizza Express today with my family. We were the only table in the restaurant and were initially greeted by a friendly girl, which gave us hope for a nice lunch. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there.
A woman with blue hair took over serving us and immediately gave off a passive-aggressive vibe. When I asked about the types of chillis they had, she oddly responded by telling me she'd worked there for seven years. Not sure how that was relevant to my question.
When our food arrived, the pizzas had no cheese, huge crusts, and really didn't seem worth the £18 price tag each. We sent them back. The blue-haired waitress didn’t say a word—just took the plates away and sent over the manager instead.
I explained the problem again, even though I'd already said it once. The manager agreed to remake two of the pizzas. The replacements were only marginally better, but the taste was still lacking, and the chef forgot to add chicken to my sister’s pizza. The blue-haired waitress laughed loudly and mockingly said, “Oh dear, we got it wrong again did we” while looking at the chef. My sister told her she would not be paying for the pizza. To top it off, the chef (actually I'm going to have to call him a 'cook' because he's no chef) glared at us as we exited.
The final bill still had charges for two of the pizzas, which I don’t think we should have paid for given the poor food and the unprofessional service. Overall, the experience was disappointing and uncomfortable. We won’t...
Read moreWe hit up Pizza Express in Newquay on Sunday, May 25th, for my 7-year-old's birthday, and thank goodness we booked – the place was absolutely buzzing! Honestly, the whole experience felt like one long wait. We waited to be seated, waited to order, and then waited ages for our food. Luckily, we were on holiday and in no rush to get back to our hotel, so we just went with the flow. We tried to use some of our rewards, but as usual, it was a bit of a faff at the till, ending up with three separate bills to get it sorted. Seriously, Pizza Express Head Office, you need to make this easier for both us and your amazing teams! We really wanted to make a big deal of our son's birthday, but the staff were so slammed, we decided against it. A bit of a shame, but maybe next time. The Silver Lining Despite the waits, there were some real highlights! The location was spot-on, with fantastic views of Fistral Beach right from our table. And a massive shout-out to Adam, our server – he was an absolute legend! He kept everyone updated about the delays and constantly checked in with us. Kudos to him for handling such a busy shift with grace. When the food finally arrived, it was tasty and fresh, which definitely made up...
