Larkin's - Brasserie & Lounge — Restaurant in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council

The entire experience was quite underwhelming. We ordered spicy chicken wings for our starter which were quite standard, nothing to rave about. I then ordered a Mexican dish of spicy chicken tacos and my partner ordered a steak sandwich. The tacos were anything but Mexican. They tasted the exact same as the chicken wings. The steak sandwich was a steak with some toasted baguette pieces on the side. After discussing with the manager (Kelly) that the tacos did not taste as expected and were fairly inedible so we requested they be removed from the bill, she was extremely confrontational and asked whether I had read the menu. She was very rude and asked why we didn’t call servers over to inform them of the issue showing she doesn’t have a clue about how customer service works. Went to larkins on two occasions and would never go again, the food was good but rather a lot of the plate was taken up by warm salad, the service was horrendous there wasn’t the sight of a single server, the second occasion was much worse though, myself and my family went for a drink or two for st Patrick’s day, and the moment we got through the door the bar keeper was rude, and started accusing us of bringing in our own alcohol, which we did not, he started on myself accusing me of having a can of beer in my hand, he was extremely rude and wouldn’t let it go dispite the fact non of us had anything on our persons and ruined what was supposed to be a good night! I love this spot usually, never had an issue in my many times here, but today in the pub section an off-duty, very drunk blonde manager made numerous nasty comments to me as she "hasn't seen my face before" and insinuated that I wasn't welcome several times, while at a personal event in the restaurant space. The other staff and even regulars were gentlemen, trying to assure her I was only in for a quiet drink but she then started to ask "is he not barred".
