West Street Deli — Restaurant in North Norfolk

Stumbled upon this gem by chance, was walking through Cromer and was initially lured down the road by the most wonderful smell of fresh baked goods which led me to West Street Deli. Saw the most amazing looking cinnamon buns in their window, and of course, it would have been rude not to bring one home with me. Lovely atmosphere at the deli and very friendly staff. Also picked up a flat white, as everyone knows cinnamon buns and coffee is a hand in hand kind of deal. From taste, I think the coffee is some sort of Indian blend (I might be completely off the mark though.) Warm, earthy and spicy, perfect for a cold seafront day. The cinnamon bun was simply perfect. Ample measures of cinnamon in a beautiful syrup that's laced throughout the pastry swirl. The bun's texture was soft, fluffy and slightly flaky with a spot on glaze on top. I've eaten maybe too much of my fair share of cinnamon buns from all over and can safely say that this is the best I've had in a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if I make some excuse to drive from Norwich to Cromer just to grab another one...and whilst im there, sausage rolls, date tarts, quiche and pretty much anything else on offer as all looks and smells incredible. Everything we tried here was delicious! We stopped in to West Street Deli on the first day of our stay in Cromer and enjoyed hot chocolate and coffees with a pain au chocolate for breakfast. The tomato tart was also fantastic. Our first visit was so great, we went back the next day and got takeaway. Each item in the case looked incredible, we had a hard time making a selection. We shared the sausage roll, lasagne, and our favorite of all - the Moroccan pie. We also tried the Reese bar which was a wonderful blend of chocolate and peanut butter. Had to share this lovely place.visited while holidaying in Cromer. OWNERS very pleasant. Made us feel welcome,they were very helpful.Grandson age 5 wanted lasagna he was very hungry. He was given a crispy cake to keep him going while food was heated up. He ate it all and loved it. I had beef and veg pastie. I can honesty say it was the best I had ever tasted .Delicious pastry full of yummy filling.The Deli was spotlessly clean (I probably messed up the floor with crumbs from pastie)convinced my very picky Husband to order a pastie for him self I raved about it so much.will definitely make it a go to place for...
