Doughnotts — Restaurant in Nottingham

I'd like to thank the kind staff at the store today. When I have my daughters I like to take them here as a treat today was the first time since lockdown I've took the girls into town as I had to get them things for starting back to school. it just so happened to be when a group of demonstrations where in progress. This normally wouldnt be an issue my kids have seen these before and its normally ok. we where queueing up outside when things seemed to get bit hostile and police where having to step in my youngest got scared and was very upset we where about to leave but the man on the door invited us in and locked the door behind us and reassured my kids. The staff working behind the counter were really sympathetic and friendly and helped to calm my daughter even offering a doughnut on the house to her. Been here a couple of times now after hearing about all the hype and I do get it, they sell cool looking doughnuts that taste pretty damn good. They’ve done well because they have got into the crazy looking doughnut trend before everyone else. I give it to you guys, the doughnuts are quality! On the other hand, there are a couple of factors that are a little annoying. The first is the speed of service within the shop, you’ll easily wait 10-15 minutes to get to the counter to order. Secondly, they are on the pricy side compared to other doughnut brands that taste the same. And finally I wish they did a deep fried option as deep fried doughnuts are 100x better than baked ones. If these doughnuts were deep fried and hot, i will have found my heaven but only cold baked ones are on offer and they are just no way as good. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but unfortunately, I cannot say that my experience at Doughnotts was a positive one, I really wanted it to be.

Me and my partner arrived very excited to try out the doughnuts, the young lady behind the till was fantastic and very friendly, the prices were good considering some places nowadays.

I found the doughnuts to be very dry, I also purchased an iced coffee, it seemed to be very difficult to make this, we were told there was no cow milk left after payment went through, thats fine we said, we will use oat milk, we were told to go upstairs and wait it'll be 5 mins, we ate our doughnuts upstairs and nothing came in the end, the lady making the coffees wasn't very friendly, and didn't seem to care much in the end, I just said can we take 2 pepsi cans as it made up the same price, I won't...
