Visited on Sat 23rd and was given cloudy real ale?! I was told by a member of staff that this beer is meant to be cloudy?! As a CAMRA member I know a little bit about beer and know that this can be expected if the beer is either a wheat, or vegan (non clarified) beer. The beer I had was neither!! After an unnecessary discussion with a member of staff concerning this matter the manager decided to change it for a different beer which was cloudy too. Didn't take the 2nd back because I didnt want to have the same pointless conversation with polite but incompetent staff who clearly have little idea about real ale or how to keep it!! To add insult to injury the price £6.25 for a pint and a half. Should have questioned this at the time but paid by card and only realised when I checked my account online today. Feel ripped off!! not least because of the 'quality' of the beer. Does the brewery know that you are telling customers that their beer should be cloudy?? Maybe I should tell them!! Would you like to respond to this please FMC. This isn't the 1st time I've had a poor pint in your establishment since it's reopening. Can you serve me...

Used to be a worksheet for canal boat repairs and so still has a 4 boat canal birth inside the building. Then it became a Canal Museum. Then a restaurant. Has a large selection of beers and real ales and ignoring the menu and reading the specials a good selection of meals. The food was pretty good and didn't seem to be the centrally-booked-and -locally-reheated type. I had a steak and chips and it was really good. Best i have had for ages. It was also fun that we took a couple of visiting Italian friends along who had never seen a real English pub before and the indoor dock clinched convincing them it was a good idea.

They also have outdoor seating right down the the canal and the Italians brought their two terriers with them no problem. A really good evening out.

It's now called the Canal...

It’s sad that I have to provide a bad review for this bar. I was here this evening with friends for my 30th birthday celebrations. The individual who was operating the karaoke equipment is nothing less than pathetic. This poor man should be removed from the premises before he does any further damage to its reputation.

After suffering from what can only be described as homophobic abuse from this individual, the remainder of the staff were more than helpful. Sadly, this doesn’t take away from the abuse.

Myself and friends decided to leave this establishment in search of more accepting premises.

This was a huge shame & I thank the bar man who came to speak to me afterwards. He was the kind of human that should be...

Absolute gem of a pub! Very cosy and lovely - I went in winter and they have mulled wine and lights and all sorts. I think there is a garden as well, will return in summer to find out. I brought our dog and our kids, and the people working at the pub were absolutely lovely, bringing over water and colouring books and generally making sure everyone was happy and having a nice time. Great atmosphere, will definitely return!

Had heard good things about the Sunday dinner and we weren’t disappointed, it was delicious 😋 We each had a different choice (Chicken, Beef & Porchetta) and all were delightful and we loved the 3 for £10 sides too. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert! Staff were friendly and it was great to see a Local ale (Liquid Light Day Tripper) on the bar. Hope to be back soon 🍻

Came here when I had 2 hours to kill, Monday 8th. 12 oclock Very friendly greeting from the bar staff. Had a 'mighty meaty' pizza which was absolutely gorgeous ! I don't normally choose pizzas when eating out but I'm glad I did this time. Couldn't see/taste any 'burnt ends' as advertised but it didn't really matter - I'd still order it again ! Many thanks
