We had our anniversary dinner here on 10.03.2023. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service from the staff was spot on and the food was sensational!
This was our first time dining here and the first time anywhere can be shadowed in skepticism unless said place is a recommendation from friends, family, or someone you trust. However, from our first steps inside the building, we were made to feel comfortable and relaxed within moments by the staff, who greeted us with smiles and guided us to our table.
The service was fairly quick and fast; drinks were out in good time and the main meal too. However, we were only the second party in at that particular moment and they were open just over half an hour from when we came in.
Coming on to what we ate, we had the Oranos' Platters for 4, which were so, so scrumptious! All of the items were cooked well and kept warm to the point that they could be eaten and appreciated without burning our tongues or being overloaded with chillies—not at all, just perfection!
However, I knocked 1 star off and that was only because, when we got home, we were looking to do this review and were looking through the menu and the pictures we had taken and then realised that we were missing two items from the platter meal... Which is the only disappointment that these were missed.
Edit: Since the above notes, we have spoken to the manager, Ali and he has assured us that next time we are in, we can have any dish as a compensation.
Edit 2: We have decided not to come back for the compension, we wish you the best and hope In-Sha-Allah the...
Read moreMy first visit to Oranos, a gem discovered by my sister, turned out to be quite enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, the experience was positive.
A warm welcome at the entrance made us feel right at home. Despite being a group of 12, including kids, the staff quickly arranged a table for us.
The ambience is inviting and well-organized. The lighting is just right—neither too bright nor too dim. The tables are well-placed, with a cosy corner perfect for large families (though a few bulbs could use replacing 😉).
The food quality is excellent. We ordered a mixed platter and karahi, both of which were delicious. The karahi gravy mixed with rice tasted like a twist on biryani, enhancing my love for the dish. The roasted items were also fabulous, with no complaints. The portions were ample, easily serving more than four people. The kids enjoyed their mocktails, sticking to familiar flavors without trying anything new. The highlight of the meal was the dessert: a delicious pistachio-flavored ice cream called Sheeryakh." It’s a must-try.
The staff were outstanding, treating us like family and frequently checking in on us. The food arrived quickly and was served hot.
Oranos is a great spot for family visits, with excellent food. However, if you're very particular about hygiene, you might notice a slight odour on the tables, likely from steak residue. A bit more thorough cleaning could help, but this is common...
Read moreFirst time coming to Oranos with family. Upon arrival the restaurant seemed nice and tidy, got seated right away. We ordered Lamb Shish and Lamb kebabs for starters and then the Lamb Charsi Karahi and sheeryakh kulfi for dessert. Took around 30/35 minutes for food to arrive so we assumed it was cooked fresh which it was. Kebabs and Lamb Shish were good nothing surprising but decent for what you get, the meat also tasted fresh and had no smell. The Charsi Karahi however was extremely disappointing as it was not in anyway a “Karahi”. It was cooked fresh however was a bog standard Lamb curry as you could tell from the masala so it was very disappointing as we especially came to try that. The rest of the dish was fine, again it was a lamb curry so for that standard it was ok. The only thing we really enjoyed from the whole meal was the Sheeryakh icecream it was phenomenal great portion too for the small size that we ordered. Unfortunately one of the sauce dishes was cracked which is a bit of a shame to be served sauce in. The toilets are not up to standard there was mess everywhere in the ladies room nappies outside of the sanitary bins empty toilet paper rolls everywhere too. Sinks were covered in rice as it seemed and there was no hand soap except for a really watered down bottle of soap which did nothing.
Overall I doubt I would come here again unless the level of service and food was...
