I recently had the pleasure of visiting a charming independent bakery in my neighborhood, and I cannot contain my excitement to share my delightful experience. This hidden gem of a bakery exceeded all my expectations and left me with a heartwarming feeling that is hard to put into words. I was greeted by the aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries, which instantly transported me to a world of culinary bliss. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff added to the overall welcoming ambiance, making me feel right at home. The bakery boasts an impressive selection of artisanal bread, sweet and savoury pastries. What truly sets this bakery apart is their commitment to quality ingredients. I love supporting local businesses and this is one of my favourites. Recommend 100%. I have also had the pleasure of trying their coffee, which perfectly complements the baked goods. Overall, my experience at this independent bakery was nothing short of exceptional. It is a testament to the power of small businesses that pour their heart and soul into their craft. I wholeheartedly recommend this bakery to anyone seeking a memorable, delicious, and community-driven culinary experience. There are parking bays outside of the bakery which are linked to the "RingGo" so you can pay from your phone.

Mary's Bakery in Nottingham exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and surrounded by the irresistible aroma of freshly baked treats. The selection at Mary's Bakery is outstanding, with beautiful pastries, cakes, and breads that look like works of art. Each bite is a heavenly experience, and the croissants and pain au chocolat were absolutely divine. The attention to detail and the care put into every creation is evident. Mary's Bakery is a hidden gem in Nottingham, perfect for a quick treat or a special celebration. I highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates the art of baking. Thank you, Mary's Bakery, for an unforgettable experience. I never thought I’d write a love letter to a sandwich, but here we are. Tough Mary’s Bakery in Nottingham has officially ruined all other sandwiches for me with their whipped stilton Christmas masterpiece. It wasn’t just a sandwich; it was an edible declaration of festive joy. The bread? Perfection—soft, golden, with just enough crunch to remind you that life is worth living. The whipped stilton? Oh, the whipped stilton! Light as a snowflake and yet decadently rich, like it had been churned by angels in a cheese-filled heaven. Tough Mary’s, you’ve set an impossible standard. Not only was the sandwich a revelation, but the bakery itself was cozy, friendly, and filled with the kind of warm smells that make you forget it’s freezing outside. If you’re in Nottingham and haven’t been yet, what are you doing with your life? Go. Immediately. And if they offer you anything with whipped stilton, prepare to have your world rocked.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt like I had to. The pastries are immaculate, we had the Danish and the Copenhagen. The Danish was flakey, topped with pistachio and the nicest blood orange, the flavour was just top tier and a must try. The Copenhagen was super fluffy and just a delight, it had a slight tang from the rhubarb jam (I think it was) that counteracted the sweetness which thankfully was not over the top. We also had a tomato (among other ingredients) soup and a grilled cheese, both were excellent although at 7.50 each the grilled cheese left a bit to be desired flavour wise but I dipped it in the soup and it makes for an excellent combo. Perhaps something for tough Mary’s to think about making deal where you can upgrade the slices of sour dough for a grilled cheese at a reduced cost for the two. I’m not a massive hot drinks person so I don’t think I can provide great insight into what constitutes a great one other than the fact the hot chocolate I had was delicious. I absolutely love to see places like this thrive and it deserves to, definitely a place I’d find myself going back to so that I could work my way...

I had a cheese and marmite swirl, a pain au chocolate, a slice of chocolate cake and a tea. Pastries were nice, I would have perhaps liked a bit more chocolate in the pain as the pastry to chocolate ratio was a bit underwhelming. Cheese and marmite swirl was nice. The chocolate cake was very good! Not too sweet yet still quite rich. That was the best of the three.

I saw some nice sandwiches and asked at the counter what they were.. to which the server said.. 'theres a sign' and gestures upwards to a sign above her head. Misery looked written across many of the staffs face. Customer service essentially non existent. Rude and just a general face of nothing. I don't want to conversate but perhaps a slightly elaboration when asked a question about the products on offer would be nice.

There was a dog in, in which quite a few staff came and fussed (even when busier). I love dogs..but I can only hope that staff washed their hands after as I didn't see them do this but also wasn't outright looking to see if they did. Decent food but wouldn't be first on my bakery hit...
