Heard about dirty bones whilst punting in oxford, and then came across it as we'd parked in Westgate..looking for breakfast spots. We were not disappointed. Steak and eggs were great. Medium rare is hard to get right.. they did it perfectly. If anything was better than the good, it was Andy's service. We were seated on a slightly low height table, I stated that I had to hunch mu back slightly.. straight away without delay Andy moved us to a better table even though it was for more people. Just before paying whilst my wife had gone to the toilet, I mentioned we had come to oxford for my wife's birthday whilst talking to Andy, I did not request anything...He came with the bill, then disappeared. Came back with a birthday doughnut sandwich for her..Caught me by surprise, but summed up Andy, going above and beyond and making us feel at home at dirty bones. Customer service really does leave a mark on you.. This was the best experience we had in oxford. Keep smiling Andy, and to dirty bones, you have an awesome colleague in him. 💙

While the food itself tasted okay at Dirty Bones, the overall experience was extremely disappointing in terms of value for money. The portions were laughably small for the exorbitant prices they charge. We ordered the £30 per person platter to share, which was barely enough food for one person's main meal. For £60, you'd expect a very generous portion but it was the opposite. The chicken tenders were also overpriced at £9 for just 3 small pieces that seemed like premade, KFC-quality chicken. The beer situation was a mess as well. We attempted to order 3 different beers and they kept coming back saying each one was out of stock, until we finally gave up and said to just bring whatever they had available. The poor value combined with the small portions and lack of beer availability really ruined the experience. At those prices, you expect a higher quality experience. I won't be returning or recommending Dirty Bones to others based on this visit. There are far better values available elsewhere in Oxford.

Visited Dirty Bones Oxford on 19th for a late lunch with a friend neither of us had been before. Booked online, no problems. Raff was our waiter and he was just brilliant, so friendly and patient, talked us through popular menu choices based on our preferences and gave us breakdowns of the dishes, he did the same with the cocktail menu. It was a lovely sunny afternoon so decided to go with the salad options as just couldn't chose, we decided we would share. Raff again was very helpful and provided us with extra plates so we could sample each others foods. We also ordered the chicken tacos and some sesame slaw just because they sounded so good. Food was served very promptly and was delicious as were the chosen cocktails. We then couldn't fo without indulging in dessert. Raff, our now trusted advisor, again helped us with options and we decided to go with the Gelato doughnut sandwich....it was amazing! Overall a fantastic meal topped off with an amazing waiter! Thank you Raff, we will be back soon!

Ordered off the Lunch menu. Whilst I myself enjoyed the Mac and Cheese burger which I initially presumed having paid the £3 up charge was going to be a double turned out to be brisket on top of a single, my parents didn’t like theirs. Having the classic burger they were very underwhelmed by the size of it. Coupled with fries that you would find at a McDonald’s. No clue why there wasn’t an option for chunky chips and skinnier fries as separate options. I did at least appreciate the in house made Ketchup and the views of the City. Which would have been good on the day with better weather. The bill came to nearly £60 with 3 burgers, 1.5 pints of Cider and a tip. It would have been even more expensive if not for the fact we were there before 3. That is mad, even in this economy!

My son recommended that we go here for his 25th birthday celeb (which coincided with being on holiday with his mum and dad and our little dog) because it was his favourite eatery when he was a student in Oxford. We could not have been more impressed. Jess, our little dog, was welcomed (as were we) and from that moment until we left the service was attentive and courteous without being stuffy. Big shout-out to Raff, our waiter, who was just such fun and a pleasure to chat to. I can thoroughly recommend the Mutt's Nutts cocktail (dog reference purely coincidental), and the food was superb. Honestly, so darned tasty and generous portions. I had Flat Iron Steak with a side of Buffalo Fries, ate every morsel. Can't recommend it highly enough. And Jess had a great evening too.

This place deserves so much more than 5 stars. I’ve heard of Dirty Bones but never actually visited before. I’m so glad I went! Me and my partner ordered cheeseburger gyozas, chicken tacos, she had chicken and I had the classic burger and the shadow milkshake each. The first bite into that burger was something else, I love burgers and can be quite critical on them but this one I had was nothing short of mouthwatering. Our host Shama came over to see how we were enjoying our food, I said it was the best I’ve ever had but I don’t think she believed me. It was an absolute delight to visit this wonderful restaurant. We live quite far away so won’t be back to this site as often but we will definitely be returning to dirty bones. Amazing food/service and brilliant atmosphere.
