Read moreA lovely place in the heart of Oxford. However, some staff members are unaware of how to approach people. Today a member of staff very politely informed me that the library is going to close in 10 minutes which I always respect and understand. A few minutes later another member of staff approached me saying "we're closing in 3 minutes" to which I replied "I know, thank you." Then, still stood there and watching me she proceeded with "erm, that means that you need to pack your things because that's when we finish." To which I replied with "no, that means that I still have two minutes and can pack my stuff in one minute, thank you". She stormed away. By the time I already packed my stuff (17:28) the library manager approached me to tell me off for being rude to their staff member which I found really uncomfortable giving that it was the other way round. Needless to say, he said the staff member might have been a bit stressed out. I left the library promptly 17:29 (not the last one either) and wish the staff would treat people with a little bit more trust...

This service can be very helpful to anyone that may not want to or are unable to travel into central Oxford. If certain books are too popular and have no copies available on site they can be reserved, although among extremely popular content there may be a bit of a wait! Decent print services with photocopying and scanning are...
