Fantastic gluten free and vegan options!! I came here a few days ago and had a wonderful gluten free toastie with pesto, vegan cheese and tomatoes. The pesto was so tasty, and the texture of the homemade gluten free bread so good, that came back the very next day to buy another!! They can make any sandwich gluten free, which means there are plenty of options. Their cakes are INCREDIBLE. I can strongly recommend the gluten free pumpkin cake - one of the best gluten free cakes I've ever eaten out! And the carrot cake, which is also dairy free, was yummy too. They had so many options - different brownies, huge choc chip cookies, pumpkin loafs, matcha balls, vegan chocolate cake. The slices and slabs are also really good sizes - not like the disappointingly small slices you sometimes get in a cafe. You absolutely must come here if you are gluten free or vegan. No other cafe comes close! The staff are so so friendly. The man and woman that run the cafe are so cheerful and welcoming, even though they are working really hard and fast because there were lots of orders. I ordered my toastie as a takeaway, and it was ready in 10-15 minutes. Thank you Organic Deli Cafe for the wonderful food. I will absolutely be back when I'm next in Oxford to try the smoothie bowls, the porridge made with gf oats, and the homemade granola. I only wish I lived closer!

What I love about this place it’s inclusivity for dietary requirement - gluten free for me! We had a coffee and both had the Avon Awesome. We chose to sit downstairs, if I went again I’d go upstairs as it got a bit cold as it was a bit of a rubbish day weather wise. There was quite a delay on the arrival of the food I would have loved to have this communicated just to manage expectations - it was about 40 minutes. By this time we had both finished our coffee and weren’t really up for food at this point. What I will say is when it did arrive there was an apology for the wait and the food was really delicious. The eggs, avocado, toast and bacon were just such a combo and everything was fresh and really flavoursome. It’s a great family run business and worth a visit for sure! Next time I’m having pancakes 😁 They also do a combo of juices and smoothies and sell fresh produce so if you are in the area do go and visit them!

As a huge fan of acai bowls, this place has been on my list to try for a while! The cafe is very pretty & everything looks fantastic, making it very hard to choose what to have! The acai bowl itself was good, the fruit was so flavourful, but I would have preferred the acai to be a bit thicker and less watery. My friend really enjoyed her bagel & cinnamon roll. Recommend!

UPDATE: Not sure why the response is that I’ve posted my review for the incorrect business. This is a review for the Organic Deli cafe on friars entry. Nice try. You asked for a more detailed review and you got it.

UPDATE 2: Okay, my bad. There is no son(!) but the chap behind the counter said, (sarcastically), “apologies from the family” and in all fairness he looks like the owner. Hence the mixup. Please stop guilting me for sharing my honest experience, CORRECTLY REVIEWED ORGANIC DELI. I just left a star rating - you asked for more detail and now your changing your responses over and over again giving me grief for it. After all that, in response to your request, no. I absolutely won’t remove my review. It’s true. It’s my experience.

Review: I used to come here all the time with friends and family as they were able to accommodate for my vegan diet. One day I went in for the soup of the day and was reassured by the owner’s son that the soup was vegan. I thought it tasted a little sour (as if it had milk in it) but figured, “well, the owner’s son isn’t going to be wrong”. A few days later I popped back and the soup of the day had changed so, once again, I checked if it was suitable for my diet. The waitress wasn’t sure and checked with the kitchen. The response: “all of our soups contain cream and are never vegan”. My oh my. The icing on the cake? The owners son overheard, shrugged, and said, “Oh. Sorry from the family”. And then walked off. I was wildly disappointed and actually quite hurt. I haven’t been back since. Nor have my friends and family as they understood how hurt I was by the palaver. We used to go at least a few times a...

We organised a surprise baby shower for my sister here and had booked the room upstairs and ordered grazing platters. When we arrived the lady behind the counter told us that our booking had never been confirmed so they didn't have the space for us. We went and sat outside waiting for the rest of our party and the lady came out again and said that actually they did have the food that we had ordered, but not the table/space we had booked, which is weird as I don't understand how you would have the food but not the space? We also had a confirmation email from the manager saying that our booking was confirmed. I understand that mistakes can happen, but there was no effort made to try to rectify the mistake or help us.. we were left outside trying to think of a solution, the manager wouldn't even come out of the kitchen to speak to us, we got no apology from anybody and no solution was offered. Luckily my sister lives just outside of Oxford so we ended up going back to her house, but this was a massive inconvenience and not what had originally been planned. The cafe gave us the food they had for us, but it was chili and salad, not grazing boards so we didn't even get the food that we had ordered and there wasn't enough to feed everyone in attendance so we had to stop by a shop on our way to my sisters. Overall I was unimpressed with how the cafe dealt with their mistake and the poor customer service that we experienced. Mistakes happen but the most important thing is how you deal with the mistake and this one wasn't dealt...
