Jaipur Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Perranzabuloe

I was sceptical of attending this restaurant after reading previous reviews, however.. As we entered the restaurant, there appeared to be a group of friends and family of the owner dining. We thought they were quite loud and disrespectful, as they were going in and out of the kitchen as they pleased and helping themselves to beer and soft drinks. The one and only high chair on the premises that we had reserved was also being used by these people, however they did let us have it before they left, after a short wait.

I have no complaints about the food, everything that we ordered tasted great, portion sizes were perfect and any left overs we took home to be enjoyed at some point later in the evening.

The restaurant could benefit from an additional waiter or waitress. The staff seemed to be rushing around, and needed some prompting for things like ordering more drinks, paying the bill, bringing the card reader etc... At one point we observed one family leaving as they had not been seen to, in an appropriate amount of time.

I noted in previous reviews there was mentions of a young woman being rude etc. in my opinion if we were served by the same young woman, she was attentive and perfectly pleasant as she could be considering the amount of pressure she was under.

hame I couldn’t give a zero. Called ahead and booked in all seemed ok, until we arrived! Had reserved a high chair, but when we arrived said we would have to wait until another family had finished with it, not a lot of good with a 10’month old so had to fetch the pushchair. NOW ONTO THE FOOD! Ordered food for 9 with popadoms to come 1st, accept they forgot about these, so they brought them out, and then 10 seconds later the b1 t food appeared! Took 10 minutes for the rest of the food to come, another 12 minutes later the naan bread come’s halfway through the meal you want to enjoy them with, they then brought out the chips when we had finished the curry’s. Over charged us for a drink, and god forbid we questioned it, 15 minute debate over a £3 coke! Whilst we were waiting to pay, we were discussing between ourselves the experience, when a gent who clearly was part of the senior management/owner who was sat eating his food called over 1 of the waiters and said get them their bill, you need to ge them out of here! Seriously, food was nowhere near how good it used to be, the service was poor, and that’s being polite, and the atmosphere was 1 where clearly they were happy with the customer they had and were an inconvenience that they just didn’t want! If it’s high season and busy, avoid this place, better service in the kebab house...

So disappointed. We placed our order online as the telephone wasn't being answered (this carried on even when we were waiting in the restaurant). We ordered at 5:45 online for us to pick up at 7:15 knowing that it is a busy period. We turned up to collect at 7:00 in case they had got ahead of themselves. We kept being told we were next BUT we eventually picked up our order at almost 8:00pm. So nearly an hour during which time people did get a table off the street and were being served. It appears all effort goes into the JUST EAT because their boxes just kept coming. It was clear our order wasn't even started even whilst we were stood in the restaurant waiting and it must have been uncomfortable for people sat at table as we were there so long it must have disturbed them too. Absolutely appalling service and not an apology until they handed the food to us and offered a bottle of Rose as compensation - which we refused. Stunning incompetence in service. The food was OK, but tasted like it had been bulked up and lost flavour...
