For the prices these guys charge, I'm stunned at how poor the customer experience is. Admittedly, there was someone young behind the desk being trained, but pretty much everyone else who worked there was a couple of beats behind the drum anyway which led to us having to sort out our own table choice out, wash our own table, and ask whether we ordered at the table or at the till. Okay-ish food, but incredibly lacklustre service, especially at the prices they charge.
P.s. I'm adding to this review based on the completely unaccountable / side-swerving response I received below.
I actually had no issue with the girl learning; if you re-read my review again, my problems were listed as being everything else. I mentioned the girl learning to provide context / understanding on your behalf, but then went onto list the real issues at hand.
It's a Saturday morning in the middle of August! Surprised at it being busy seems like a cop out to me. Of course it's going to be busy, so preparing correct numbers of staff should be an appropriate course of action for you. Using that as an excuse post-sub standard experience isn't really good enough.
I don't think the efficiency per member of staff at your place is pretty effective to be honest as I watched a lot of them bumble around and seemed to chase their tail and using less initiative rather than being on the beat (I've been involved in a family restaurant before). If your prices reflected this, I'd have no issue but your prices reflect a higher standard operation, so hence me moaning a little on Google Reviews.
In reflection, maybe you should just take fair critique on the chin and look inwardly and learn rather than side-stepping and laying out excuses. Perhaps offer a discounted incentive to see us return and we could perhaps adjust our review next time. Maybe look at the efficiency and initiative of your workers (handing me a cloth to clean our own table?!). I acknowledge it's tough out there, and hiring quality workers for a seasonal destination like Perranporth isn't ideal, but charging like you're at Green Park in London rather than a high street in Perranporth is taking the mickey a bit in my view based on all...
Read moreUnfortunately, my friend and I were shocked at the terrible customer service received during our visit yesterday- 8 th June 2022. We queued for 10 minutes with just a couple of people waiting ahead of us. Despite being at the start of the queue we were bypassed and staff served others. Finally, we were able to order desserts and immediately paid for them. After another 10 minutes where staff were serving other customers and my friends dessert hadnât arrived, we made enquiries to which the staff member said: â Oh we will make it nowâ. As we had already been ignored, my friend asked for a ÂŁ9.00 refund (total cost of the takeaway dessert), when the machine didnât seem to work, my friend just asked for her money back. The manager initially refused to give her ÂŁ9 cash. It was only after much persuasion that the manager refunded my friend. When we left, I turned around to see staff laughing with other customers- Iâve never seen such bullying and disrespectful behaviour for a long time. Staff need to be aware of customers, to be polite and gladly serve them. If they are unhappy with their job they should do something else! They never know whom they maybe serving, my friend happens to own a local restaurant, having many years experience in the hospitality business and we are both reeling about...
Read moreSomewhat confused as to all the rave reviews here, perhaps itâs just because the food quality and taste in Perranporth overall is just a bit naff that this place seems better. We had 3 pizzas, they were alright, but were cooked in a conventional commercial oven and didnât have that stone/wood baked taste. In fact, there was a lack of flavour and seasoning overall. They werenât bad, they just werenât great either. Slightly better than a supermarket pizza. The ice cream, well we had a large polystyrene tub containing 7 scoops to share. The salted caramel was basically savoury it was so salty, the white chocolate wasnât really sweet, and the vanilla with honeycomb was also a bit bland. The ice cream also isnât very creamy (I guess too much water or milk added to save costs)... itâs just not as good as other dessert chains or gelaterias. But on a side note, the staff are very friendly and the shop is clean and...
