My partner and her friend had a very disappointing experience at this café. From the moment they arrived, staff were unhelpful and dismissive. My partner was struggling with a pram on the stairs and received no assistance, which set the tone for the visit. They were initially shown to a cramped spot at the back, despite more suitable tables being available. A high chair was mentioned but never brought over, and when they asked about changing tables, the staff member simply walked away instead of helping.
Throughout the visit, they felt as though families with children were more of an inconvenience than welcome guests. They ended up moving between tables just to find space for the pram and car seat, but each time it was met with sighs or poor attitudes from staff. Even a simple request to have a table cleaned was treated as a bother.
Service was unfriendly, unaccommodating, and left them feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. Unfortunately, based on this experience, they wouldn’t recommend this café to families or anyone expecting a warm, helpful environment.
I was also disappointed as I recommended the cafe due to a lot of forces families that eat there. If this is how the staff and management treat forces families then it is definitely a place to avoid...
Read moreI visited Jasmine's Cafe on the Ridgeway recently for breakfast with a couple of my Navy pals. On entering, I was greeted by a member of staff welcoming me and my friends and shown to a table. The owner, an extremely friendly guy and former Royal Marine, Westy, with a great sense of humour and warm welcoming manner. We ordered a midi breakfast each with coffees and have to say that it was the best breakfast experience I have had for some considerable time. The breakfasts were freshly cooked and delivered hot to the table. Everything on the plate was amazing quality and very well presented. The staff member was Caroline that took our order who was really nice and friendly and a credit to the business. The cafe has a lovely ambience and very tastefully decorated with Royal Marine pictures and memorabilia adourning the walls which made me feel at home. I will definitely be a regular visitor to this lovely high street cafe and thank the owner for creating a great place to come for an outstanding breakfast...

There we go, that's the negatives out of the way. This is a really lovely cafe with an atmosphere that you just wouldn't get next door in the Witherspoon's.
Service was really attentive and lovely with our children. For example, they'd made slightly too much milkshake and came over later to top their drinks up.
I asked for cremated bacon and for the first time I try to eternity I got cremated bacon! Many cafes don't do this despite the request.
The food is good value and the coffee very good quality.
We came away feeling like valued customers which goes a really long way.
Once the sausages are upgraded I wouldn't be able to fault it!
Highly...
