Subway — Restaurant in Plymouth

Popped in today only to be poorly treated. I joined the queue... Not a very socially distant one mind, got inside to be greeted by a miserable member of staff that told me I couldnt pay by cash and needed a different payment method. I ran back out to the car to get my card and rejoined the queue. When I got back inside the same rude guy refused to serve me as I wasn't wearing a mask. I was wearing my face mask exemption card and lanyard and told him I had a disability and a hidden one at that. I kindly told the guy he couldn't refuse me or discriminate against my disability to which he then replied.... "Well I just did, now leave"

I have never felt so humiliated, he treated me like that in front of many others, some of which I might add were eating inside..... Its meant to be takeaway only.

After being so poorly treated and still wanting a subway my boyfriend and I drove the Ebrington street branch. My boyfriend got out this time and told the staff member there how i'd just been treated at derriford. He was absolutely appalled and said no way should I have been refused service, that is not the policy, all public are welcome, masks are essential but if your exempt your exempt.

I have since taken this further with the council, ref the people inside.... Hopefully that'll make them think again next time

I’ve always loved this subway - a regular stop to grab lunch on my way to the office. I’m currently in Derriford Hospital, last night getting hubby to collect my favourite ‘double chicken and bacon salad’ and tonight a ‘chicken sub’. The salad was my last ever - around 30% of the normal chicken serving - I stirred through the lovely coronation chicken from my hospital salad and even the loveliness of that didn’t help. Tonight’s footlong sub was so disappointing - chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese, cucumber, pickles, red peppers and onions - the filling was barely existent. I love subway, it’s healthy and fresh but this just had nothing to it.

It did have everything ordered technically, but definitely isn’t what I’d have got in store and was incredibly disappointing in flavour and texture.

I tried a few different items including a plant picante foot long, Doritos chilli heatwave nachos and the crinkle wedges.

The sub was very good. The nachos were ok but they were made better the previous time I had been there.

I can’t recommend the upgrade to crinkle wedges- soft and soggy.

Some of the staff at this branch are highly skilled. Others don’t even know the menu. A little more training needed. I had to explain to the cashier that I could upgrade the meal deal to the crinkle wedges, and also had to explain how I didn’t need to have a subway card to be...
