Imogen, our customer host, was polite, knowledgeable and engaging. It took nearly forty mins for our meals to arrive. The menu suggested a much more special meal than was presented, ie the roast potatoes were ordinary, not crispy and no sign of rosemary etc. As there were four of us, there were two vegetable side dishes, one did not include cauliflower cheese as indicated on the menu. My wife and I had the Brie and mushroom wellington - not a wellington, more a pasty/pie. The explanation given by another member of staff for the missing cauliflower cheese was that it was excluded as we had the vegan meal. A portion of cauliflower cheese eventually arrived and the member of staff confirmed that it would not be added to the bill. Firstly, the meal was not vegan and secondly, the menu said it was included in the price. Our meals and the two carvery meals our family had were decidedly lukewarm and definitely not hot. According to the menu the carvery roast pork had salt and pepper crackling - there was none. We asked the same member of staff about whether some could be provided. She went to find out but the response was that all the cracking was soft.

We did not see Imogen again during the meal and although we were served by other staff the service, although polite, was not great.

My wife and I had taken our family out for a Sunday treat and unfortunately, it was very disappointing. I would not recommend The Waterfront for a traditional...

The service was very good, I could not fault the staff. The layout and ambience of the pub is very good with some good tables with sea views which we were lucky to get thanks to the staff. Two people enjoyed the Spanish chicken which on the whole they said they enjoyed, though one persons chicken was reported as being very dry and they were not sure where the cheese was within it. One person enjoyed the tribute pie and mash but the carrots served on the dish were very lacking in quanity and no other vegetables were included aside from a shallot. I would expect at least two vegetables to be served with my main of pie. I had the angus beef burger which didn’t come anywhere near to meeting my standards for an £18 burger with fries. It was pretty boring, pretty dry and lacking any real punch The fries looked and tasted as if they had been cooked three times over. I was very disappointed with my meal choice, especially for the price.

We shared two desserts between us which were really very good. Not cheap at £8 & £9 but they were very good. One was the clotted cream and strawberry cheesecake and the other was the Belgian waffle with caramelised banana.

Not a cheap menu, and for that reason I would have expected more from the mains. The mains were all presented nicely though. Except...

I don't normally write reviews but today is needed. Today was my family Christmas meal. I was so excited for my family to try your food and experience the service we had received last time..... unfortunately today was a completely different experience. It started off poor as you didnt seem to have any starters on your menu, 3 times starter orders we're changed. The service was slow, very under staffed for the amount of bookings taken. The room we were in, was over booked making it incredibly loud, not enjoyable at all. Dogs barking every 5 minutes, not acceptable. I personally think people with dogs should be put in a separate room or no dogs. Three of the party had roast beef, absolutely disgusting. I don't know whether the beef was off, boiled or a cheap cut but it was vile. For the prices being charged, I expect better than that. I did express this to a lovely waiter and she did apologise and take some money off the bill. I feel there was a slight greed to bookings taken and no consideration for staff or customers, poor management. One of the party that had the beef is heavily pregnant, I just hope she doesn't become ill. Unfortunately due to today's experience, we will not be back,...

Lovely little spot on the coast went with my partner for valentines and they had all kinds of decor up and roses on the table which made for a nice atmosphere, we were set a table in a room by our selves which the staff was good to make sure we felt like we was being proper look after but it was nice to have the quiet place to ourselves as well, staff were very friendly and quick on drink food took a fair amount of time wasn’t too long definitely didn’t leave us hungry, however the steak was a bit cold but for the price not bad at all the burger was really good with plenty of fries on the side to fill you up as well, then dessert was abit priced up however I was pleasantly surprised by a massive wedge of sticky toffee pudding which was delicious that we both enjoy definitely made up for it, overall great experience on the coast with a lovely ocean view and amazing smiling staff ready to help

Haven’t been here since my university days 25 years ago! It brought back lots of happy memories. The service was excellent and we were very pleased to see they served Frobishers juices! There is also a great selection of other drinks. The venue is very clean (posh hand wash in the toilets!) with plenty of indoor and outside seating. Dogs are welcome and there is a water bowl for them outside. We only wanted a small breakfast as we already had lunch reservations, so asked if we could share the breakfast bap. They even cut it in half, secured it with a stick and gave us an extra plate. And it was absolutely delicious, they obviously use quality ingredients. When so many places are getting the service wrong, it was refreshing to be made to feel so welcome. Thanks to all the team!

When asked if they sell Prosecco, I was told they sell the big bottles or by the glass. I ordered a glass and when it arrived it was only half a glass. When questioned, I was told that it was right and it was 'their measures'. Not happy with this I asked to speak to the young girls supervisor and all he could say was sorry but it was 'their measures'! I then saw a different barman bring out a full flute and pint of beer to another table. I asked this barman what it was the lady had ordered and he said Prosecco. Lifting my glass up I asked if he could top mine to the same measure as hers, of course he replied and brought me a full glass back with a smile! Over £6 for a lemonade and half a glass of Prosecco, needless to say we won't be going back in a hurry!
