Rapscallions is probably my favourite bar in Portsmouth, it is a pirate themed rum bar and it is the best place to start or finish your night!! They do a bottomless brunch which is all you can eat pizza & rum which is very good value.
The atmosphere in here always amazing if I ever go out I try to convince other to end up at Raps and if I can't I just go anyway, whether there is 1 of you or 15 of you you experience doesn't change. Music in here is great as well which what really helps the atmosphere.
The food is amazing and portions sizes are great value for money, the Wings feel like they are a whole leg and the nachos feel like they are never ending. They do food later on weekends so even when you feel you are finishing your night there is still food available.
You can work your way through the entire cocktail menu because each one is served in a different glass and each one you get a different experience with. The staff here really are showmen when it comes to presenting the cocktails. I couldn't even tell you whaty favourite cocktail is because everyone is a different experience. There is a about 4 or 5 different tikis, an exploding barrel, a parrot, then you get to the sharing cocktails... There is a massive treasure chest you drink out of a fishbowl that is being engulfed by a Kracken and then there is also a massive shark head you drink out of as well and when they bring them out they really make a spectacle and show of it coming out so everyone in the bar is aware you're drinking a sharer. It was great fun when we got other tables drinking sharers as well because drink after drink after drink to each table was a different show, you only need one and everyone jumps on the sharer bandwagon.
Grant is an amazing host and always seems like he is running around and not stopping. We also came here for my brothers birthday for a bottomless brunch, we got him a birthday shot but grant got the whole bar up singing a sea Shanty the atmosphere is unbeatable.

I always try to get people here but they may not come because they don't understand it, once you come you understand and then everyone wants to come back, I Can not wait to come here...
Read moreWhat a fall from grace. Came here last year for the bottomless brunch and had one of the best nights out; however, after returning here for another bottomless brunch, everything seems to have just gone downhill. A group of 10 of us arrived for the brunch and were immediately shivering as we'd been placed directly under an air con unit, it was 13 degrees weather, why is air con on in the first place? We asked numerous times for it to be turned down, but were told by the staff that there was a table directly under the unit, so it wouldn't be possible. Other customers here were sitting with winter coats on and moving around the place to try and avoid it. The jugs of rum and mixers that were bought over were so weak, I'm not sure how much rum was in them, but no one in my party could taste any of it. We all walked out more sober than we walked in. The food came out, and the portions were completely overkill. One member of my party ordered the mac and cheese, and there was easily enough for 6 people piled onto a single plate. Why are they so overkill with food but tight-fisted with drink? The food was okay, mediocre at best. We had to consistently wait a while for staff to come over to refill our drinks, but they all seemed pretty clueless. The whole experience left a really poor taste in my mouth. AI-generated art all over the walls, what's pirate-themed about playing Radiohead and Tenacious D over the speakers? Our party spent well over £500 with this place, so I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for the aircon to be turned down. My friend's birthday felt ruined, all of us came down to Portsmouth especially for this, and all of us felt so let down. It will certainly be the last time we visit this place, and it's such a shame considering how great it...
Read moreAbsolute disaster, a total disgrace. Booked due to the great reviews (these people must be living in a different universe, I have no other explanation for that), mentioned it was for my birthday. Found about 10 dishes online I wanted to try, and was looking forward to it. Upon arrival, no acknowledgement that I had specifically booked as a birthday treat, the hopelessly overwhelmed only waitress just pointed to a table crammed between two packed tables.
(A few minutes after us another party arrived with someone having a birthday, they were being led to a special table with special birthday chair?!)
I had a look at the menus which basically featured burgers, nachos and 2 types of a skewer, whilst the table next to us complained about the meat being bone dry, and asked the waitress where the online menu was. Oh yeah, she kept asking the owner about that, it really needed changing, as their new chef (an approximately 19 year old boy) had changed the menu, but the owner had so much to do with all his businesses that he didn't get round to update the online menu yet.
We had enough and left, birthday ruined, lured into a place by a wonderful online menu that simply doesn't exist in real life.
I felt sorry for the very friendly waitress, what an impossible position she's...
