As a person who loves trying out different restaurants and leaving a review for people so they can make a decision, I have seen this restaurant while walking around town and really wanted to try it at least for the ambience. Just yesterday I ordered online and before that I did call the restaurant and asked for suggestions and they were so kind to offer me their recommendations. The food came in such good packaging that I was really expectant of what I was about to experience. But to my dismay- the food was very bad. I ordered lamb curry and rice as a combo as well as Butter chicken and rice in kids menu. As a South Indian who loves Indian food this was my worst nightmare- the lamb curry smelled awful and I couldn’t figure out the taste - like no real effort was put in making that curry- just made me so sad that this was served as an example of Indian cuisine. I thought there would be hope with the Butter chicken- after all its staple in any Indian household- I was wrong, hardly any taste hit the tastebuds. And the pieces were so bad, I have seen cheaper restaurants like Deccan spice on Plungington road had better quality than this place. The rice was filled with burnt jeera- anyone who knows Indian food knows that it was burnt.

Our first time and long awaited visit to Mowgli Preston celebrating my 40th birthday after loving watching Nisha Katona on tv & enjoying making her delicious food & wow we weren't dissapointed! After some bad examples of customer services when we went for a couple of drinks beforehand it was great to come to such a welcoming, warm, friendly atmosphere at Mowgli! Me & my husband sat in swing seats which were great & the decor inside was brilliant! Ray was fantastic, such a top bloke & so friendly and attentive & clearly loves his job & is great at it, nothing was too much bother for him & he was also telling us about the fantastic charity work that he & Mowgli support for Derian House which is a truly worthy cause! The food was absolutely brilliant! Chatt bombs & gunpowder chicken are a must & we also had fenugreek kissed chips, roti breads, rice, butter chicken & goan fish curry & there wasn't a scrap left! I wanted to try everything on the menu & will definitely be back and I've since bought the Mowgli street food book to recreate the dishes at home too! Highly recommend for the food, atmosphere & customer service 🙌😃

When the second thing the staff tell you is there's no mother butter chicken unfortunately it's an immediate 1 star off. This was my 8 year olds favourite dish from previous Mowgli visit in Manchester. Second star off is basically for whichever idiot came up with the idea of putting swings in a restaurant then seating a family with 2 children aged 8 and 5 in them. The swings need to go. The food was fine but the cold square metal plates I don't understand. We didn't get coffee. It wasn't offered. Also had to ask for extra drinks at least three times. When the bill was brought without being requested we knew the staff were keen for us to leave. I think Nish would not be happy with the service or the swings if she spends any time on site any more. Also no clue why the staff don't have epos for their orders. We wouldn't have tipped if it wasn't Christmas. Humbug I know.

We had decided to go to this restaurant as we celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. During the reservation, I informed them I wanted to pre-order a chocolate brownie cake and asked them to write Anniversary Wishes. However, they politely explained that they never do. However, they have been offered a complimentary brownie. At the restaurant, the Service was awful, the person who took care of us never came back after the order had been taken, never checked how the food was or about the service. Once we finish the food, I ask one of the ladies about the complimentary cake. She was informed that she would check with the manager about it; however, she never came back to inform us about what was happening. After a long wait, we decided to go back home. While asking for the bill, they mentioned the cake on the bill. When I asked the lady (who took our order), she said that she was about to deliver, but she saw that my family (2 kids) were standing near the till and never had the courtesy to apologise or ask for take-away. I really don't understand why the staff are not aware of the Portion size. While I am placing the order she not confident to give answer. I believe it would be beneficial for management to focus on enhancing the overall service quality to ensure a better experience for patrons in the future. Unfortunately, our...

Me and my husband came here yesterday after calling up and the waitress said this place is Halal. We ordered our food and they mentioned it is tifin sized so ordering 2/3 is advised. We both ordered butter chicken and Roti bread. All I can say is we were both really disappointed. The Roti wasn't fresh, as being Asian you can tell the Roti was pre heated or a day/two old as it just crumbled away and was dry, when fresh Roti is soft and fluffy. The butter chicken was standard, nothing special. We also ordered a Mango Lassi and the description said it was made from Keser mangoes, after taking a sip, the mango lassi wasn't even sweet and it was more of a bitter taste. Keser Mangoes dosnt taste bitter as I regularly buy them in the summer period and they are super sweet and have a pungent flavour.

If you want an authentic style street food then I'd recommend Saffron Street in Blackburn the portion sizes are larger too or if you want a decent curry then East z East down the road.

Also, one thing I wasn't a fan of was having dogs in the restaurant, as do the workers even brush the dog hair up and mop up after where it has walked as to me it's a bit unhygienic, or do they leave it till the end of the night?

I usually take photos but on this occasion I didn't as I was really deflated by...
