We had decided to go to this restaurant as we celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. During the reservation, I informed them I wanted to pre-order a chocolate brownie cake and asked them to write Anniversary Wishes. However, they politely explained that they never do. However, they have been offered a complimentary brownie. At the restaurant, the Service was awful, the person who took care of us never came back after the order had been taken, never checked how the food was or about the service. Once we finish the food, I ask one of the ladies about the complimentary cake. She was informed that she would check with the manager about it; however, she never came back to inform us about what was happening. After a long wait, we decided to go back home. While asking for the bill, they mentioned the cake on the bill. When I asked the lady (who took our order), she said that she was about to deliver, but she saw that my family (2 kids) were standing near the till and never had the courtesy to apologise or ask for take-away. I really don't understand why the staff are not aware of the Portion size. While I am placing the order she not confident to give answer. I believe it would be beneficial for management to focus on enhancing the overall service quality to ensure a better experience for patrons in the future. Unfortunately, our...
Read moreMe and my husband came here yesterday after calling up and the waitress said this place is Halal. We ordered our food and they mentioned it is tifin sized so ordering 2/3 is advised. We both ordered butter chicken and Roti bread. All I can say is we were both really disappointed. The Roti wasn't fresh, as being Asian you can tell the Roti was pre heated or a day/two old as it just crumbled away and was dry, when fresh Roti is soft and fluffy. The butter chicken was standard, nothing special. We also ordered a Mango Lassi and the description said it was made from Keser mangoes, after taking a sip, the mango lassi wasn't even sweet and it was more of a bitter taste. Keser Mangoes dosnt taste bitter as I regularly buy them in the summer period and they are super sweet and have a pungent flavour.
If you want an authentic style street food then I'd recommend Saffron Street in Blackburn the portion sizes are larger too or if you want a decent curry then East z East down the road.
Also, one thing I wasn't a fan of was having dogs in the restaurant, as do the workers even brush the dog hair up and mop up after where it has walked as to me it's a bit unhygienic, or do they leave it till the end of the night?
I usually take photos but on this occasion I didn't as I was really deflated by...
Read moreAs a person who loves trying out different restaurants and leaving a review for people so they can make a decision, I have seen this restaurant while walking around town and really wanted to try it at least for the ambience. Just yesterday I ordered online and before that I did call the restaurant and asked for suggestions and they were so kind to offer me their recommendations. The food came in such good packaging that I was really expectant of what I was about to experience. But to my dismay- the food was very bad. I ordered lamb curry and rice as a combo as well as Butter chicken and rice in kids menu. As a South Indian who loves Indian food this was my worst nightmare- the lamb curry smelled awful and I couldn’t figure out the taste - like no real effort was put in making that curry- just made me so sad that this was served as an example of Indian cuisine. I thought there would be hope with the Butter chicken- after all its staple in any Indian household- I was wrong, hardly any taste hit the tastebuds. And the pieces were so bad, I have seen cheaper restaurants like Deccan spice on Plungington road had better quality than this place. The rice was filled with burnt jeera- anyone who knows Indian food knows that...
