Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Reading

Shocked that not 1 member of staff on this morning's shift (9/8/2023) helped a Woman who fell just outside the restaurant. Regardless of whether the fall took place in the restaurant or not, the windows and doors were knocked for assistance and the members of staff ignored the calls for help. The Woman was on the floor for some time. In shock, alone and stared at. The fire exit is also disability access or in case of an emergency so we know it can be opened! The neglect should be investigated via CCTV! The staff should be spoken to and action taken. We just wanted a cup of water. Coffee in this Costa is below the standard of other Costa shops I’ve been to. Their customer service is none existent. I was waiting to be served today and there were 2 people working, one was making drink s and another one was „Wiktoria” who after handing someone the drink was free and started approaching me as she saw I was waiting, however the other lady asked her to bring something from the back „when she gets time” so Wiktoria decided it’s more important to bring something non urgent from the back than serve the customer.

I purchased two slices of white toast. After I paid for it, the assistant spoke to the manager who then told me that the machine wasn’t working properly and I would need to wait 10+ minutes (toast normally takes less than 2 minutes to cook). I immediately asked for a refund as I wasnt able to wait the time to. I stood at the till for 7 minutes waiting for the manager to do the refund. He was not apologetic despite taking my money first and then delivering a poor service. Looking at the other reviews, I can see that poor customer service is a running theme...
