Victoria Park Recreation Ground — Attraction in Reading

Oh dear. A rough looking patch of land if ever there was one. There is a treacle black mud path down one side where people drive and park their cars. There is a very modest little children's play area in need of some tlc. A desperately poor football goal cuts a forlorn picture with no actual pitch (or other goalposts) for company. As if that's not enough this modestly sized tract of land has a sizable chunk cordened off for dog walkers (which some people just ignore anyway and let their dog roam free.) There was almost a positive but the zip wire that at some point had been installed is inoperable. A tragic waste of land crying out for some creativity...

Recently all new play equipment was installed and it's gone from shabby to brilliant! There is a huge spiral slide at the centre, but plenty of things for toddlers too. There is also gym type outdoor apparatus for adults which...

Unfortunately blighted by drug paraphernalia fly tipped rubbish and abandoned vehicles which is a shame as it has a nice little play park. Council do there best to keep it tidy but it's an...
