A Mixed Experience at the South Indian Buffet Morning Breakfast

I recently visited a restaurant that offered a South Indian buffet for morning breakfast, featuring a variety of delicious dishes like dosa, idli, vada, and uppama. While the food overall was good, there were a few aspects that left me with mixed feelings about my experience.

Let’s start with the positives. The buffet spread had a decent selection of South Indian breakfast items, and the flavors were authentic and enjoyable. The dosas were crispy and flavorful, and the idlis were soft and fluffy. The vadas had a perfect crunch, and the uppama was well-seasoned. It was evident that the chefs put effort into preparing the dishes.

However, one downside of the experience was the long wait for the dosas. Despite the delicious taste, the wait time was quite frustrating. It seemed like the restaurant was understaffed in the live counter section, resulting in a delay in getting freshly made dosas. This issue affected the overall efficiency of the buffet experience.

Furthermore, I was disappointed to find out that my child was charged the adult rate. It is common practice for restaurants to have a reduced rate for children, but in this case, they charged the full adult price. This left a negative impression as it felt unfair and not customer-friendly.

On a positive note, the tea was not ready and we were prepared to leave as people were waiting. The waiter insisted for take away , and that tea was truly remarkable and stood out as the best part of my experience. The flavors were rich and aromatic, and it was evident that great care was taken in its preparation. I appreciated the waiter’ commitment and thoroughly enjoyed the tea.

In conclusion, the South Indian buffet morning breakfast at this restaurant offered a satisfying variety of dishes, but the experience had its ups and downs. The food itself was good, with standout items like dosa and tea. However, the long wait for dosas and the disappointment of being charged the adult rate for my child detracted from the overall experience. If the restaurant can address these issues, it has the potential to provide an even better dining experience...

When the food arrived, it exceeded my expectations. The flavors were rich and varied, capturing the essence of South Indian cuisine perfectly. From the crispy dosas to the flavorful sambar, every dish was a delight to the senses. Pooja's attentiveness throughout the meal truly enhanced the experience; she ensured that everything was to our liking and even took the time to explain the origins of certain dishes.

If you're in Reading and craving authentic Indian cuisine, Crispy Dosa is the place to be—especially on Sundays! Their Sunday buffet is nothing short of amazing, offering an extensive selection of mouth-watering dishes that will transport you straight to the heart of South India.

The buffet spread is a vibrant celebration of flavors, featuring a wide variety of dosas, including crispy classic dosas, masala dosas, and even innovative variations that cater to all tastes. Alongside these, you'll find soft, fluffy idlis, perfect for dipping into the rich and aromatic sambar. The assortment of chutneys—tangy coconut, spicy tomato, and sweet and sour tamarind—add layers of flavor to every bite.

If you're in the mood for something more filling, the poori and oothappam are excellent choices. The poori is golden and crispy, while the oothappam, with its soft, savory pancake-like texture, is a real treat. Each dish is prepared with care and fresh ingredients, making every bite an indulgence.

To top off the meal, they serve refreshing cups of tea or coffee, the perfect way to end your feast.

The service is friendly and attentive, ensuring that your experience is as enjoyable as the food. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, the Sunday buffet at Crispy Dosa offers unbeatable variety and value.
