Have been coming here for a few months now, and overall I am quite pleased. I have been steadily working my way through their entire menu, while still bring home a few of my favourites. I would say that every curry is well made, and fresh and delicious. But the only thing they are lacking in, is being able to maintain the taste. For instance, I tried the Aloo Gobi curry in the first month, and had it regularly quite happily for 6 weeks. But then after this, either they have a different chef in or the recipe has changed..as the curry has not been the same, the next 5 times I have bought it, which is quite disappointing. I have also discovered, that the vegetarian curries seem to be much better than the meat ones, as the spices and flavour is really good. So perhaps some improvement is needed in the meat side of things? I would also suggest to make sure the salt is just right, as quite a few times I have received a box that was too salty, which I had to water down, so it wouldn't pose a health risk to me.

I must say though, the establishment is clean and tidy. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, which is a very nice thing indeed.

List of dishes I have tried (best to least best), for others to refer too: -Aloo Gobi - very nice, but don't expect the same recipe every time. -Aloo Bhindi - for some reason this vegetable dish costs the same as a meat curry, but has no meat inside. Otherwise, very nice. -Chana daal - mosty delicious everytime, occasionally too salty. -Chickpea curry - delicious every-time - well done guys. -Black chickpea curry - delicious. -Chicken palak curry - (two combined in a box) - delicious. -Brown daal - was sour, wasn't so impressed with this one. -Chicken curry - strange pieces of chicken, would like to see a few breast pieces in there, and no broken legs thank you! Otherwise tastes fine -Chicken achar curry - extremely thick, and overly spiced. Had to water it down at home. -Chicken briyani/chicken dum briyani - more like plou. Quite disappointing, would recommend you save your money and go to Briyani Boys next door. -Chicken roast - sweet and sour taste, not spicy at all. Too much red food colouring added. -Halva Puri breakfast - delicious, but the portions are small. Felt snack size to me. -Mint chutney - very prominent on the garlic, but if you mix it at home with plain yogurt, its all good. -Keer - very nice. -Rasmali - very nice. -Tea - very nice

It would be great if you could serve some non dairy dishes. Perhaps swap the butter for Marg. As my daughter has to get something else from Yadggaar, as she...

Awful experience, ruined a very special family event. The customer service is 0% here, when we arrived it wasn’t busy, but there wasn’t a big table. We was assured that they family on it was leaving shortly and when they left, our breakfast would be put on the table and we could eat. This did not happen, we was sat outside waiting in the cold for 40mins! While that family sipped on tea for forever. We kept asking when our food would be ready, and got the reply that it would be soon.. but it was clear that they had food ready, as other people and families came in and got served before us with the same order. We was starving to say it mildly.

Eventually they led us to the table, the guy wiping down the table just pushed the food on to the floor and chairs which was really gross 🤢 we then had to tell him to wipe down the chairs as he was leaving them like this for us to sit on.

Food arrived twenty minutes later but in bits.. so the parents were served before the children.. which means we had to give them our food as it was now nearly lunchtime and they still hadn’t had breakfast! 🙈 overall our entire experience wasn’t great, and I don't feel like a valued customer in this restaurant. I still can’t believe they had the guts to serve other customers the same breakfast items we had ordered, when we had clearly ordered before they did. This our second bad experience with this shop, the first one we put it aside as the manager said they had recently opened.

I would say, to stay ahead of the game.. please guys get better customer service and don’t mislead the customers on fast service when you can’t deliver it. Please be clean when wiping down tables, customers don’t want to be walking in other people’s food, nor sitting on it!

Next time we will be going to Yadgar, where the customer service is 100% - food comes to the table all at once, and the...

Terrible experience and unfortunately I have to leave a bad review because of this. We planed a beautiful wedding, very colourful and thought of ordering briyani for everyone. 60 people worth with a few side dish came to around £400. Discussed everything on the phone many times. Suggested to make it very very mild as it will be a mixture of British and Asian people at the wedding. Came to try it and briyani tasted great, especially the chicken briyani. Just before the day I reminded them to make at least 6 portion vegetarian. The day of the wedding was an absolute disaster ! The biryani was not mild at all, kids were crying because it was too spicy and all the adult only had 2 spoons and left the rest. Even we couldn't eat it and we like spicy food. Additionally, they requested an additional £15 for the vegetarian briyani which I thought they would be part of the 60 portion but they made an addition 6 potions on top of the 60 portions so ended up with 66 portions of briyani for 60 guests. End of the day no one at my wedding ate any of it because it was so spicy. The next day it all had to go to waste, all of that food and money wasted. The next day I called and simply let them know the briyani was too spicy, did not request a refund as I highly doubt they would even issue that. I was going to recommend them to my cousins wedding but after this I'd rather recommend people to run away from that place instead and they still had the audacity to beg and recommend them anyway. To me it just seem like the money was more important than anything ! All the guest were truly looking forward to the briyani but left with dissapointment as it was just inedible. I'll say this once and then let it go, stay away from this place !

£415...

Worth every penny!!!, it was our first time in Reading, so we were craving some good Biriyani then soon we entered the restaurant we were really shocked by the menu; come on it was quite impossible to imagine £3 chicken biriyani and £5 for lamb biriyani, I personally thought it was impossible or it can be the portion size is too small but soon as the food arrived we were literally shocked and so we decided to try more of the food that they had to offer and lastly we added chilli chicken, Daal and chicken tikka and the taste did not disappoint at all, although people reading this long review will definitely be offended when they will imagine me trying daal with biriyani 😂 so sorry in advance for that🙏 lastly we already have fallen in love with the food and specially with a beautiful and very sweet server ( “Manisha” ) did not forget her name though ! she said to us before leaving if you love the food do give a review plus don’t forget to mention her name 😂 , she is the best and really good salesperson to be at the front because I have personal noticed the interaction with customers plus her suggestion for the food and pushing the sales by suggestion of food item like suggesting us desserts after food , her words:-(“After a good food you definitely need dessert to make it better!”) that was impressive way to push the dessert sale and also asking everyone individual customers about the food also shows professionalism. So lastly 10 on 10 !

What an absolute disgrace of a breakfast. Honestly if I could give minus stars I would shame google doesn’t allow it. Where shall i start Ordered nihari however that was anything but nihari it was more like cocktail of leftover curries mixed together and defrosted after being frozen for few days. How can someone insult one or the best traditional dish subcontinent has to offer in last 15 decades. Putting an old rusty tasteless hard boiled full of fat mutton shank on top of some leftover gravy doesn’t constitute nihari. I hope owner reads it and saves others of this embarrassment and abandon the quest for bashing food in grinder and serving it to his helpless customers. Ordered lassi again I give up wasting my time to having to narrate this. Yogurt and milk both are chilled cold items which make lassi however so called lassi was Luke warm and they tried to compensate by throwing disgusting half melted ice cubes. What a waste of money time and appetite. It was criminal to have gone to this place I won’t even call restaurant. First and last time. Only positive is that you can play a prank with your friends by hyping best nihari in the UK and serve them this rubbish. And say YOU HAVE BEEN PRANKED. 😝 smile you are on camera. What a joke🤬

No wonder that they called it "Biryanish", true to their name. On Thursday I had a generous, delicious and well spiced chicken biryani with salad and mango lassi. I enjoyed it so much and I haven't left a morsel behind. 😁 On Friday, I came back for more and this time I had lamb biryani with salad and mango lassi. It was as delicious as the chicken one. On Sunday 5/5/24, after 11 months, the 5th day of the 5th month of the year 2024, I went back to Reading. My son and I went to have a lunch at Biryanish with higher expectations. They didn't disappoint me as they were excellent in accommodating us and the food was generous and delicious, I had chicken biryani, spinach mango lassi, my son had lamb biryani and Peshawari nan-bread and mango lassi. The food was so nice I ordered one chicken biryani and lamb biryani to take away with back to London. Thank you brother Sam and his team, a special thanks to Wish over the counter who was professional, polite and courteous. See you again in the future, In-Sha-ALLAH ☝🏿
