Lovely friendly staff at this Indian restaurant. The tables are amazing inlayed with spices, they look so good. The menu is not the usual type of Indian menu, with only a few recognisable dishes and only mild or spicy food, not many dishes in between. The Korma was nice but very sweet so not easy to eat it all. The drinks selection is limited but they have some yoghurt drinks which I believe are milkshakes! It is always busy so obviously loved by everyone around! We will be going back again but I will be brave and try one of the spicier dishes and not have a naan bread too! The peshwari naan was amazing though! Slow service tonight and someone knocked over a very large glass vase with spices in which hit a table and cut a man's hand! It was knocked over by a very drunk man so they have now removed all the vases which is a shame as they looked really good! The poppadoms and dips are very good, so is the bombay aloo. We tried the carrot pudding tonight, it was a bit like rice pudding made from grated carrot instead of rice, very warm (heated) and sweet with a strange cheese smell and taste, not sure we would have it again but I'm glad to have tried it.

10/10 Happy atmosphere, clean, lovely decore, fabulous food and drinks. A must see in reading for all Indian cuisine and curry lovers! Best place to go to eat in reading for Indian food. I used to work at the royal tandoori across road and was a regular there. This is my first time eating a house of flavours and it was top tier food and service. No other restaurant for authentic Indian cuisines can compete. Chicken and lamb was tender and divine. Cocktails were amazing too unlike at other restaurants. Staff were lovely, accommodating and polite. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Officially my new curry house and won’t bother going anywhere else. I have wasted so much money with other restaurants who are subpar and over priced for what you received. Two staff members I’d like to draw attention to in picture attached - they both gave excellent customer service. You made our evening lovely and the gentleman explained/ advised on menu for what our preferred tastes would match best to dishes. Thanks again for everything. Can’t wait to come back! - Molly :)

Nice meal although was disappointed with some aspects of the evening! Upon arrival, we mentioned that we had booked a table for 10, although we were now expecting 7-8 people to attend. The front of house mentioned that we would have to confirm the exact number for either a table of 6 with an extra chair at the end of the table or a bigger table for 10, but should the others not attend, then we would be charged for 10 people. Wasn’t impressed considering there was no mention of this at the time of booking yet front of house stated that they were fully booked that evening, so I accepted that fact and asked for a table to seat 6 with one on the end to make it 7. Sat down with my work colleagues and enjoyed the meal which was really good, food was delicious and the service was really good so no issues there. We did have to wait quite a long time between the starter and main course for reasons unknown to us. Thinking that maybe it was as busy as the front of house mentioned, I just accepted that fact, but was disappointed again with my main which was slightly cold which suggests it had been sitting out for a while. There were 7 of us dining so I can only imagine that it was sat in the window waiting for the other dishes to be ready so that it was served all at the same time since they bring the dishes on a cart to your table. The food was very tasty and was very happy with the quality, just the time between courses could have been better as it was the best part of a 60 mins wait. We did have lots of rounds of drinks in between, but there is only so much one can drink between courses. Quite pricey for what we had but the quality is definitely there so it was worth it, just wish the overall experience had been better. Definitely worth a visit and one thing I did notice during the evening was that there were at least 6-7 empty tables so the front of house wasn’t quite right in saying he was fully booked, unless they all cancelled last minute. Taking everything into account I’d say it was an ok meal, but could have been 5 stars had some aspects been a bit smoother.

It stands true to its name! Food is distinctly flavourful & the place offers a good range of authentic Indian dishes (North Indian cuisine mostly). But a strong caveat here❗All three ⭐s are ONLY for the chef and the kitchen staff. Trust the manager, serving and reception staff to ruin your experience each time 😡 This angst is not borne out of a single visit, but a culmination of several over a long period of time. I have visited the restaurant in groups at least 5-6 times during the past year. Only to be dismayed repeatedly to find: 1. The serving staff mocking the customers! 2. Most of them are completely disinterested and lack etiquette. 3. They make you feel as if they are doing a favour. 4. Request for water or cutlery takes ages. 5. And the worst, giving extra special attention to the white skin while ignoring other customers. So, the buffet and takeaways seem to be the right way to enjoy the good food while ensuring minimal interaction with the front-end staff 😶

Delicious Indian Cuisine and Exceptional Service! I recently had the pleasure of dining at house of flavours in Reading London, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place for a meal with friends or family. The menu offers a fantastic variety of authentic Indian dishes, and everything I ordered was incredibly flavorful. From drinks to starters to dinner everything was perfectly spiced and tender. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure I had a great dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. Overall, House of flavours offers an authentic taste of India right in the heart of London. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and top-notch service. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

Ordered about £69 worth of food. Overall rating of 2/10, was a meal that ruined a night. The good: - The saag and the jalfreezi (Although low on meat content) were actually kind of flavoursome, which is nice in comparison. The bad: - I usually love tandoori meats, but the chicken we ordered (bottom of picture) was extremely dry, which was disapointing. - The bryiani (left of picture) was also very disappointing and just looked very, low effort, not much lamb and everything was separated. Overall disappointing. The prices aren't cheap, but from the meat quantity and presentation amongst the dryness, you just get left with a feeling you've been cheaped out by the restaurant. Maybe they put in more effort when you eat in, but as a delivery customer, this was an overall waste of money. I would warn against ordering from here.
