Honest Burgers Reading — Restaurant in Reading

January 2024 - It is with regret I am having lower my review for this Honest Burger. I have been twice over the past month and on both occasions, neither hugely busy ones, chips were cold-luke warm at best and burgers were burnt. I like my burger charred, but this has not been the case, it had been burnt leaving a horrible aftertaste. I am not sure what has happened at this Honest Burger but I feel I will skip going back for a while, for I don't want three disappointing trips/burgers and fries in a row! Food should not be being served cold and or burnt at any restaurant - period. As someone who has always highly recommend Honest Burger to everyone, its a real shame to now suggest avoidance!

Summer 2023 - Absolutely delicious food and amazing service. Waitress was great in helping both me and my friend decide what to get. The food arrived promptly and was piping hot. All cooked to perfection. I am a sweet over savoury person, but Honest Burger holds a special place in my heard. The rosemary sea salt chips and incomparable to any other chip - they are like the best chip you have ever eaten crossed with the best roast potato you have ever eaten. I get the plant burger. which is also incredible (when using Beyond meat, this is expected!). I also switched the vegan cheese for American cheese this time (I am vegetarian, not vegan) which I think I preferred! Highly recommend Honest Burger if you want to mega level up your Burger and Fries game (ps. they also do Blue Light discounts every day...

I really like the decor and fit out. The simplicity of the menu is great. The burgers are good.

I once had a burger at honest burgers in London that was so pink in the middle that it was practucally raw and I hated it, so I asked for the burger medium well done this time around, and found it was a bit too dry unfortunately. Maybe if we go back I will have it cooked to their standard medium and hopefully it will be juicier. Food itself was good, but I think more burger in the burgers would be great. Was 30% burger, 30% toppings and 20% bun, which is disappointing. Drinks are ok. Gave us a cocktail without a straw, which was a minor oversight. Onion rings were huge and a little greasy, and expensive.

Comparing this place to Five Guys or 7Bone, you are paying a premium for the service and atmosphere. Honest Burgers Reading is like an upmarket version of the disappointing 7Bone Burger. The service was a little inexperienced, but that was ok, didn't really hinder the meal; but it was near on impossible to get the attention of someone to get the bill.

I prefer Five Guys for the hassle free set up, cheaper prices and better tasting, more meaty burgers, but will definitely come back to Honest...

I only review when I’m badly let down, or I’m incredibly impressed, and I’m incredibly impressed with Honest Burgers at Reading. I was visiting my son who works in Reading, and had been wanting to try Honest Burgers for a while. So we decided to give it a try. We were all very impressed (even the vegetarians amongst us). For me, my son, and my grandson (who’s quite fussy) the meat was brilliant and cooked just right. The serves don’t look big, which worried me at first, but by the time you get through it all, the gap is filled. However, the best part, was the wonderful friendly staff. We went back three times in one week, and plan on going back one more time before we have to go back to Australia. Big cheers to Molly for your beautiful service and your wonderful personality, and to your supervisor, who was also very generous, thank you. The staff seem soooo happy there, and that makes us happy. Keep up the great work, . . . . . or fun, . . . . . or whatever it is you’re there for. 😁 I’d highly recommend this place to anyone, not just for the excellent food, but the friendliest service anywhere. Please, open some branches...
