Seasons Caribbean Cuisine — Restaurant in Reading

Was sent to this place by a friend. She spoke well of the food and place so I went. £12.50 for a small portion of jollof rice , curried mutton and literally 1/4 of a plantain sliced into 4 small round pieces. The plantain came in a small container, equivalent to these sauce pots from McDonald's or KFC and she took it out of the fridge and microwaved it, the food was microwaved as well, it only dawned on me that the pinging that I heard was from a microwave. I was sure when I got home shortly after and the plantain felt rubbery as it would if cold and microwaved and the rice was a bit off. I don't ever write a review but I was so disappointed with the food, service and most importantly the price, let me explain. Yesterday I bought a takeaway from Seasons Caribbean Cuisine. I ordered a large rice & peas, large curry chicken curry and jerk chicken. i didn't realise until I got home that I have paid £15 for a small rice & peas with veg instead of salad, small curry chicken and a small portion of jerk chicken. the curry was not season it got no taste, half a rice & peas and half veg crammed in together, the jerk chicken was not seasoned thank god for the BBQ jerk sauce. the service was so slow one customer got fed up and walked out the shop. Ordered takeaway for a family birthday meal. What a waste of money.

Every single meal had to be warmed up. Mutton Curry dry as a bone and tasteless. Fried fish meal - fish totally bland, no flavour. Vegetarian curry meal - curry once again tasteless and bland. Ended up seasoning it when I heated it up. Chicken curry meal - plain, tasteless, bland. Jerk Chicken meal - utterly bland. My baby son polished it off. That tells you how flavourless it was. Macaroni pie - not even salted, but it did taste good once I'd warmed it up and added salt. Sides overpriced - Plantain £1.50 for 5 slices so not even a quarter of a plantain! Coleslaw - £1.50 for 5 level tablespoon!

Would never order from Seasons again. Feel robbed as...
