The food overall was just okay, but several things really let it down. The mac and cheese wasn’t very nice at all — bland and lacking flavour. We were offered mushy peas, but they didn’t have any, the onion rings we ordered weren’t available either, and the salad came with no dressing. We ordered some chips to come with our mains and there seemed to be some sort of bean in the chip bowl which was very strange and off-putting. Dishes came out one at a time, with a 45-minute gap between the first and last, which made it impossible to enjoy the meal together. That kind of service really isn’t acceptable in a sit-down restaurant. There was just one person working — taking orders, making drinks behind the bar, and serving food. It was clear he was doing his absolute best, but the restaurant was massively understaffed, and it showed. We had booked a table for nine people two weeks in advance, so they knew we were coming and should’ve been prepared. Management really needs to step up and make sure more than one person is scheduled to work in situations like this. To be fair, when we raised our concerns, the server kindly took the late dishes off the bill, which we appreciated — but overall, it still wasn’t a great experience.

Amazing personable service. On arrival the bar chap was process a large group order, however, immediately gave me recognition and apologised for any delay...no problem for me. Some confusion with my order which was promptly resolved and the food presentation and quality was delicious. I wanted to suggest some feedback, as I understood that the menu was newly introduced. As a former hotelier I always welcomed good feed back too.. Bradley, head chef, afforded me the opportunity to chat about my experience, so what a refreshing change to see..he's so passionate, an absolute star and an asset to this establishment. Best of luck everyone you have the right attitude and customer service to make this place amazing.

I rang ahead to check if it was okay to bring my dog, and was told it would be fine, so I made the arrangements, and rang again to confirm numbers, and to remind them about my dog. We had a couple of drinks, and Peach was as good as gold (and much admired by several of the other patrons). Just as we were ordering food, the manager came up and told us that dogs weren't allowed, and that we would have to leave. When I explained that I had checked ahead, and that we had just ordered food, he grudgingly agreed to let us stay until 9pm, and then turfed us out. We finished our evening at a nearby and far more dog-friendly bar. I won't be setting foot in the Pitcher and Piano again.

We arrived early for our lunch with family members and were hoping to get a hot drink. Apologies were given as the coffee machine was broken and we were offered other drinks.  We were shown to our table by a lovely Celtic sounding lady, who offered us an additional chair for our bags. The rest of our family joined us, and we ordered. Again, our lovely lady took our menu choices and confirmed them.  We did wait a long time for our starters; however, they were tasty. Our main courses were served very soon, perhaps too soon, afterwards. Two members of our party had the Pan-Fried Sea Bass and both commented that the fish was very nice but on the whole the potatoes (four large potatoes not crushed potatoes) and mangetout (there were no green beans or peas) were very dry and would have benefitted with the white wine butter sauce which again seemed missing. The other dishes were not all presented with the complements as listed on the menu. After eating another lady approached our table and asked if everything was satisfactory. One of our party politely mentioned the shortcomings of our meals and was greeted by the reply "SHAME" and walked off! We certainly didn't feel like ordering any desserts. When we asked for the bill, we were just told a total, for which no breakdown was given, and expected to pay. A couple of members of our party asked for a breakdown, of the charges, which was eventually produced. This breakdown was carefully checked and when paid no receipt of payment was produced. We all left feeling rather disappointed as we had had high...

We were a group of 13 people who had pre-booked the bottomless brunch for 12pm. After booking online, I had emailed the restaurant/bar twice with no response. My friend then called and was quoted ÂŁ24pp which is different to the online price.

On arriving slightly earlier than the time booked, we were told to wait outside (in the rain). When we came back, the staff asked if we had booked, not checking the reservations on their system.

We then got given our first drinks and provided with dirty glasses. No one came to Check if we needed a refill, we had to go and ask. As some people asked for mimosas we were then offered a jug of orange juice to make the mimosas ourselves.

We were the first guests to arrive and when one guest ordered the shakshuka we were told they had ‘run out’- questionable as the restaurant had just opened

Our food took over 80 minutes to arrive after chasing up 3 times. When we received our food , for those who ordered meals containing eggs they were not even given a whole egg each, they were cut into small pieces, the halloumi was burnt, some people’s bacon was greasy whilst others had over cooked bacon. A couple of people had parts of their meal missing, one had a hash brown missing , the other had a mushroom missing.

We then asked for the bill which was charged at over ÂŁ29pp, so no note was put through the system to charge for the lower price. We then had to contest this to get to a...

we were looking for somewhere to get some food prior to my partner getting the training, neither of us had eaten at the pitcher and piano before so thought we'd give it a try, but we both agreed by the end it was the first and last time we'd eat in the chain. Having ordered 2 starters, 2 mains and a drink each we then sat waiting for over 30 mins for the starters, when they eventually arrived they looked decent but that was the highlight, i had bbq sticky chicken skewers, they had little to no sticky sauce and the chicken was dry. my partner had sticky pork belly steamed buns and again there was no obvious sauce and the meat was dry so couldnt be eaten as part of the bun it had to be cut up, for the mains she had the chicken salad and again there was no flavour to the chicken or salad and the chicken was so over cooked she couldnt cut let alone eat the outer edge of it, she felt it haf maybe been reheated, i had the ribeye -medium rare which was the least over cooked of the meats we recieved but said little, along with a mushroom which was so over cooked it looked like leather and had a crunchy edge, the only highlight of the entire meal were the chips. i tried to say something to the staff but they where rather absent certainly a case i felt that once money was paid on ordering, there was no interest in...
