What a little gem!
We knew this place, arguably our local had new management just before lockdown started but had not made it along before we were not able to go out at all.
That coupled with a mixed review from a friend (who said it was not a place to bring our kids too) meant we still hadn't tried it out until today.
We had a few drinks in the sun in the lovely beer garden out back and had a nice time of it.
Full COVID measures, such as track and trace, temperature checks, orders from the table only etc are in place.
The staff, male barman specifically, are literally running around serving every body and the atmosphere was good.
Decent draft beer available (Morretti) and a good range of nuts and snacks for the kids who had a decent time too.

   Read moreSuch a welcoming pub! The landlady is so welcoming and caring for her customers (who soon become friends). There’s always something going on; Thursday’s they do PubQuiz with thought out questions and themes. So many people come over on Thursday’s they even have to have two people reading out questions. Every first Friday of the month they do curry-oke, with a great set up to sing with friends and have a laugh. They have two massive TVs outside so it’s great for sporting events. The outside is all done up with a huge marquee and a pool table area. The staff couldn’t be nicer and Maria, the landlady, is always up for a chat and a laugh.    Read moreFriendly back street pub, one of the few left with the traditional two bar arrangement. A cosy front bar and a larger back bar with pool table and dart board. A varying selection of real ales (usually a choice of two) plus ciders and lagers.
No pretensions to be something it isn't (no food beyond crisps and nuts) but really good at what it does, with a comfortable laid-back feel.
Come on a Wednesday and you may find the local Ukelele society playing in...
