A decent place to eat but needs to work on the details.
Menu has a lot of choice, mainly traditional Italian restaurant menu (think veal, meatballs, tiramisu) and pizza options. Side dishes are usually extra. The venue has two floors with air con upstairs and a fully open shop front if weather permits. Interior is modern and clean. Wine list is large like the food menu, but would like to see mocktails or more creative soft options.
Food is generous, if a little heavy. Each thing we ate was perfectly good if underseasoned across all three courses.
Service is good but lacking attention. I had an issue with one dish which didn't match my interpretation of the menu and it was replaced with something else without hesitation (and didn't appear on the bill). But we were never asked if everything was OK, and trying to order more drinks took effort.
A good place to eat but Rayleigh town is competitive for Italian food - there's something dated about the menus and...
Read moreWasn’t happy with the service - booked a table for 8pm and was not seated until 8.20pm. This was due to our table still being occupied… If you book a table for a certain time, you expect to be seated at that time. People should be made aware of a slot and that they need to be out of the restaurant at a particular time. For example , the people who booked before us should have booked for 5.30pm, needing to be out for 7.30pm , and then have a 30 minute grace period. This would make the service 10x better. The staff were only apologetic when we moaned … they then sh*t themselves a bit and offered us free drinks … which was a nice gesture but was prompted.
I will say that the food was lovely. I’ve been to Italy and my family is Italian and the food was of a good standard. The best Italian in Rayleigh in my...
Read moreHad 2 chances taken on the calamari, both under cooked but when the main Pollo Milanese came out and the chicken was raw, even though it had been cut in half, we left, no one was surprised that we did, feels like it is a regular occurrence. Went to the proper Italian restaurant in Rayleigh just up the road. Never going back here try it if you wish at your own risk. I am not one to complain but raw calamari and raw chicken served up is unforgivable and could lead to illness that could kill so no questions I should leave a review. If the owner is reading this please get a new chef or train your chef to cook properly. It is not hard to do please don’t carry on in the fashion, you will go out of business or kill...
