Went in for lunch with my grandmother, who had recently moved nearby, as I enjoy tapas and hadn’t been to a Spanish restaurant for some time.
On arrival, we were greeted by staff, who were very friendly and welcoming, and given a choice of where we would like to sit. We opted to sit inside, but there is a pleasant outdoor seating area, with cover and heaters for colder days, though it was a bright sunny day when we went.
The interior of the restaurant was very much what you would expect to see in Spain, with a bar area and lots of photos of people enjoying sunshine, which I assume are friends, family and maybe even customers!
Music was modern, which was not to my grandmother’s taste, but was in keeping with the venue (I didn’t mind it).
I went for a set meal, with three smaller dishes. I selected Croquetas De Cocido (meat croquettes), Cordero Con Menta (minted lamb) and Patatas con Jamon y Queso (deep fried potato chunks, with ham and cheese), all of which were very enjoyable, followed by a lemon sorbet.
My grandmother went for anchovies and we also shared some bread (basic French stick) with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Overall, the meal was good, portions were as I would expect and the price was fair for this type of establishment, but not necessarily somewhere to go if you just want a mid-range lunch.
Venue is nice, but does have steps, so not accessible. Toilets were okay.
Plenty of drinks to choose from, though we stuck with tap water.

Read moreMarco’s 31st October One to avoid. Initial impression was disappointing. The décor was dated and the person behind the bar seemed more intent on finishing off some paperwork than serving us. After a few minutes wait one of the waitresses noticed us and came across to welcome us in. However, we were out for the night so didn’t want to let these things put us off having a good time. We were sat in the extension area which was drafty and had quite stark lighting. Our waitress was attentive and took our order and quickly returned with our drinks. We waited for quite a while before the starters came out (one dish was the wrong one but we didn’t want to make a fuss). This was our first look at the quality of the food that we were in for. The garlic bread was a thick slice of square bread with melted cheese on top (cheese on toast). The Main dishes comprised of chicken nuggets in burnt garlic oil, monkfish portions in a split cream sauce, re-heated potatoes… pretty much everything we had was unappetising and bland. I could go on about how the initial attentive service soon descended into complete apathy. Is this too harsh – not in the least. These places need to realise that they are wasting their customers time, enjoyment and money with their couldn’t give a...
Read moreBooked a evening meal with my family on the 30th August 2025, originally i booked for six people, had to pay a deposit of £10 per-person ( £60 ) as the booking was over five persons. But on the day one family member couldn't make it so we was down to five persons for the evening meal. On arrivel to the restaurant we was greeted by the one of the staff at the door way and shown to our table, i informed them that there were six of us booked in but was now down to five. We had a good night eating great food and the waiting staff, the two ladies were very attentive to our every needs during our meal. could not fault them. ON finishing our meal and receiving the bill i was told that the deposit of £60 was reduced to £50 because there was only six dinners ! I mentioned that at no time was this mentioned when first booked the meal over the phone and payed the £60 deposit and when we arrived for the evening meal and i informed them that our party was reduced to five rather then six. If this was a company policy then i feel this should have been mentioned when i first book the reservation over the phone and for me to decide to carry on with the booking. All in all we had a great night with the waiting staff making our evening but it was dampened by losing one...
