The food itself was delicious, but the customer service was bare minimum. There's no table service, even though they charge higher prices for eat-in. The barista made no effort to ensure the customers got their coffee from the pickup area, he simply called out the order once in a quiet voice and turned back around to make more orders. Meanwhile every second person (including me) waited around unsure if their order was ready or not; McDonalds style. A bit of eye contact and a louder voice would've been great. They have a sign saying this place is cashless so they don't waste time counting change...it really feels like the bare minimum customer...

Honestly surprised that such a simple business can be run so badly.

Visited for the first time today. We were told ‘no coffee because we have run out’. Whilst we were there I counted 30+ people who walked out when they were told… how about using your initiative and going to buy some beans?

Ordered hot chocolate and pasties. Took an age for the drinks to come - made one at a time by the lady pictured. Painful to watch. Other staff friendly but really not very bright. I heard customers asking for food to be warmed and staff were utterly baffled by the question.

Dreadful. Waste of £16,...

Awful place! Food was terrible, they clearly don't believe in seasoning their food so the tortilla was very bland. The cakes were so dry they were bordering on stale. To make matters worse the prices were a total rip off in my opinion and the staff were beyond rude. There's no sign to say they don't accept cash and when we pointed this out to them the attitude was appalling. Oh and you will be screamed at to collect your order when it's ready, literally screamed at from the counter. With the amount of cafés there are in Rye I'd definitely recommend avoiding this one and...

Me and my friend were really looking forward to enjoying a treat from this bakery and we both picked up a scone with clotted cream to take to the beach. Unfortunately, when we opened the packaging a bit later, we both found that the clotted cream containers had already been opened — and even worse, it had visible mold inside. It was incredibly disappointing and completely ruined the experience. For a place that presents itself with quality and care, this kind of oversight is unacceptable. I hope your team takes better care in checking their products in the future.

Popped in here for some train snacks for the journey home and left with a couple of chocolate twists which I didn’t even get to sniff as the kids INHALED these. So i have to assume they’re good! I’m a big hot chocolate fan so I practically cried with joy when they said they did Italian hot chocolate - you know the one - it’s thick and sweet and you really need a spoon to get it all out. It was good. And I really did need a spoon but I had to resort to using my finger instead 😬
