A warm welcome in Ryes oldest pub from Izzie & Bell. Excellent selection of ales ,lagers and wines. Being a real ale drinker I had a pint of Ye Olde Bell unique to Ye Olde Bell, followed by 2 pints of RIPPER a very nice session pale ale with a grapefruit and citrus taste. The wine selection is comprehensive Sauvignon from New Zealand, Pinot grigio from Italy & Malbec from Argentina. The menu is home made pizza's and burgers to cater for all tastes, Vegan & Gluten free options. I didn't sample the food but will return. Dog friendly and a outside area to watch the world go by. A real oldy world pub well worth a visit.

A beautiful pint of ripper nothing changed except outside a beautiful garden where you can watch the world go by sitting under a Wisteria...

Me and my 3 friends recently travelled down from new york to explore many areas of england. last night we ended up in rye and decided to dine and the old bell (on the 19th of august) as we noticed it was the oldest pub going in the area we were in. the bar staff were brilliant and the young boy who served us was very polite about our requests and even went and got us pizza boxes to take our pizza’s home. this was a surprise to us and he looked at the age of 15-16 yet he was super polite and was so helpful despite how busy it was both the bar service and the waiter service were exceptional and made it our best food experience in...

Towards the end of our 2nd/3rd drink we were asked to move table as there was a reservation on our table (no sign had been put down and we'd been there a while). Firstly, it turned out the reservation was in nearly an hours' time. Surely we could've been left to finish up then move/leave? Secondly, by the time we'd been to the toilet before heading out (about 2 mins after being asked to move), the table had been offered to a group who had just come in (who the reservation was not for). So what was the point? Not the best, really, is it. Shame as food was nice and we had otherwise been well served. But this...

Nice place if you'd like to sit outside and grab something to drink. Food on the other hand, well let's say isn't tasty. 1)Deep fried squids arrived after the main course ( which is fine) but, they probably forgot to change the oil because you could feel the bitterness. 2)1/2 pound cheese burger came with just meat, cheese and bun. No tomatoes, letuice which I can live without, but the meat was so bad, I bit in to not one but two pieces of hard substance, which I can only presume was bones. 3) Mixed seafood in a tomato ragu was just some seafood with salad. No ragu sause at all. 4) Drinks were good though

We were welcomed into the oldest pub in Rye on the first night of our short getaway by very friendly and approachable staff. The pub itself is a very quaint and characteristic building, cosy yet lively. The food was a bargain, very tasty but excellent price. None of this £12.95 stuff. Just straight £9 or £11 etc etc. There was no pressure to leave or eat up quickly. The food was served in brilliant time. Could not recommend this pub enough. Simple menu choice but I wouldn't want anything else in a pub. First place we ate at and most probably the choice for day two!
