Below average, unprofessional, unskilled and unwelcoming.
Where should I start ...
--The pizza dough felt like it was a frozen one just topped up with stuff . Absolutely inferior for the year 2022. The only difference between a Asda pizza that I make at home and this one was their oven. The crust of pizza was crumbling like a biscuit with zero elasticity topped with poor quality ingredients.
Let me put it this way ... Dominos makes 3 times better pizza than this "Mediterranean Restaurant "
--The mix grill was tasteless and dry without seasoning and burned meats served with a large amount of raw onion and without any sauces or anything to make this experience a bit more pleasant .
--Gave us a completely different wine than the one we ordered and not a better bottle , the waiter didn't even bother to let us know , just oppened the random bottle and poured into our glasses. We have ordered the second most expensive wine on the list so we had a big disappointment to see that the one they oppened for us it was for sale for £6 on the internet. Definitely not the Rioja Crianza 2017 we expected , what they gave to us was a basic table wine. --When I told our waiter about our disappointment he told us that Ribera del Duero makes better wines than Rioja .... completely nonsense way of dealing with a complain in my view. So we end up drinking the table wine as basically we were ignored.
--It was a weird patronising service that made me and my girlfriend both feel uncomfortable.
--The table management was bad as on a empty restaurant with 3 tables in they managed to get us seated 40 cm away from 2 different tables so as it was empty you could hear everything the people around you were talking .
Surprisingly the dessert was good the Baklava was quality over quantity so good job for that.
--Memorable experience and not...
Read moreSome friends and I were out enjoying a drink in Monton on Saturday evening, and we decided to call at Leo's for a casual meal as we have enjoyed the restaurant previously. We arrived at around 8pm and the restaurant was fairly busy with a mixture of dining groups.
The first thing that we noticed was how loud the music was, so much so that we struggled to hear each other or the restaurant staff. When we were seated, we saw one of the waiters was gyrating around in a "comedy" fashion to one of the groups of ladies. Assuming that it must have been a one-off performance as part of some kind of celebration for one of the groups we ordered. Unfortunately, after the third "performance" and the waiter coming over to our table trying to be funny we realised that we had made a mistake.
The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other when we were trying to have a conversation. The table of women being entertained seemed to be having a good time and one other family looked like they were enjoying the chaos, but all other diners and even some of the stuff looked unhappy / uncomfortable.
Eventually the groups that the whole restaurant seemed to be trying to impress left and the music was slowly turned down but by that point the relaxed meal was ruined.
I have enjoyed Leo's on numerous occasions previously with both friends and family and was really disappointed with how poor the experience was.
I'm not sure if it is just Saturday evening that they turn the place into a poor cabaret club with a Josh Widdicombe look alike running around annoying diners, but I won't be going back for an overpriced pizza...

Service - Staff very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Big shout to Alazar, Aysun and India who looked after us all … Table was set out ready for our large group. Drink choice excellent. Plenty of choice. bottle of house sauvignon wine £28 and 11% vol … I like 13% min for that price.
Food - Loads of choice on the menu we had to pre order as we were a large group …little touch would be they could have asked if we wanted anything extra to what we had pre ordered as we had to ask over our pre ordered food … the Lamb chops no longer come with rice as per the menu on the website however was not a problem as we asked for a portion of chips supplied at no extra cost … Cheesy garlic breads are fabulous pizza style fluffy crispy The Rib eye ( rare ) was cooked to perfection, and the accompanying pepper sauce was delicious. Chips were also cooked perfectly. Lasagna a good portion piping hot and gorgeous Pizzas lovely spaghetti bolognaise a good portion and the lamb shank on bed of mash big portion to.
Dessert - Again great choice. Tiramasu, delicious. Not amazing but very very good.
