Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Sandwell

Worst Costa visit I've ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!. Bad managerial and hygiene practises. Where do I start?

Came in for a coffee on Wednesday afternoon. Not being from the area, it was the first coffee shop I came across. Having visited several costa's across the country this happens to be one of the worst.

While I was there I witnessed the manager being extremely rude and abrupt to her staff especially when in view of paying customers.

When observing my surroundings, I was shocked to see the manager walking around the in her socks without her shoes on. Socks that I could only assume were once white. Socks that unfortunately had several holes in. I thought costa employed a high level of hygiene and expected staff members to keep thier footwear on. I guess everyone needs thier feet to breath, especially when your on company time.

Needless to say I didn't really enjoy my coffee while looking at someone's dirty socks. Not really a pleasant sight on a wednesday afternoon. To make it even worse the shoeless manager walked through the kitchen and bathroom area to the shop floor several time.

While there I heard several staff noting there payslips have been given to them opened and hours not being counted for.. Which clearly breaches data protection act of 1999 and 2018, also employment laws!!!!!!! Dont think head office would be happy.

Overall i guess hygiene and customer health and wellbeing isn't considered of importance at this particular branch. Absolutely disgusting!!!! and I won't be visiting again. I suggest you dont as well.

Would give 0 stars if i could. I am disgusted with what i witnessed today, a young girl and i assume with her mom accidentally dropped one drink on the floor accidents happen ! one member of staff woman with short curly hair and glasses was so rude to them sucking her teeth at them, muttering under her breath at first then started getting louder for everyone to hear embarrassing the poor girl, saying ‘like we’re not busy enough’ ‘now i’ve got to stop and clean all this’ amongst other things then forcefully pushed the table away from her cleaning it up. i heard her say shes sorry and she got ignored! then went by the toilets with the other lady clearing herself up shouting outside the door for her to hear. making everyone stare at them she downed whatever drink she had and left. this is disgusting and a lot of customers were talking about this member of staff. i understand it may be frustrating but doesn’t mean you say it out loud! especially in front of everyone. this lady needs re training on customer skills, to top it all off i then heard the girl say what a great start to my...

Appalling and disgusting behaviour from manager Mariah. She was rude and lacked customer service. She displayed anti-social & aggressive behaviour towards me because I asked about my drink after waiting for 20 minutes.Not only was there a delay in serving my drink she also got my order wrong and accused me of lying and having been already served. When I told her I would report her for her lack of customer service and rudeness she flashed her badge in my face and bellowed to me about her being the manager. I told her I would take my complaint to senior management and she sarcastically responded by telling me to take it HR. When I was served my drink I felt uncomfortable after the incident and felt obliged to leave and I will never visit the store again or any other Costa cafes because of her appalling behaviour and attitude.
