A fair and honest review of the billiard hall:
Staff: 2/5 (some decent staff some not so and not enough in general to manage a pub of this size. Higher management are rarely seen and the “team leaders” seem to run the place which I’ve not found in other spoons)
Drinks: 4/5 (good selection and cheap, the only thing stopping a 5/5 is the service time you can be waiting 10-15 minutes at times to be served while the staff have a natter at the end of the bar)
Food: 3/5 ( as you would expect in most spoons it’s the standard, cheap and cheerful... advise against using the order and pay app though as the staff have a problem with the product and will deliberately make you wait or make your order difficult (wrong glasses or incomplete order etc))
Environment: 1/5 (in desperate need of a face lift, for a spoons it’s been very neglected it’s a “wipe your feet as you leave” type pub, try and avoid the bathrooms they are poorly maintained but due to the understaffing in the pub that’s to be expected.)
Clientele: 4/5 (not encountered much trouble in there on my visits, occasionally get travellers in (perhaps once a year) and they can be loud and unruly but the general customer base seems decent.)
Over all: 2/5 (staff let the place down a bit but as they are under staffed I suppose it’s not their fault. Cheap and cheerful for beer and food... not the sort of place you would take your mother but not bad for an afternoon...

After waiting 45 minutes and watching 3 families who arrived after us being served, I asked where our food was. It was obvious that they had messed up because they didn't even know what we had ordered! My mother in law's came out first on a plate with bits of dried peas on it, but missing the peas she had asked for. They brought out my meal which was also completely wrong. They gave me the correct meal but forgot the cutlery, Then returned with 2 knives. They brought out my husband's meal which was a burger. We specifically asked for no gherkin or tomatoes due to allergies, but this too was ignored. It was rectified and luckily he hadn't swallowed any of the food. We then saw someone wiping down the tables with a cloth and spray bottle which is fine, but they included ones where customers were still eating and drinking! I hope that this was a one off, but we certainly won't be...
