The taste was not as regular but not bad though. When I visited there were 10ppl from the same family and ordered many items. The staffs were taking orders without realising the food stock they have. This made quite delay in serving, which lead to waiting time of more than an hour. As a SKVP brand, when these problem arises they should have a backup plan as in more staff arrangements or ensuring food stocks especially during holiday season. Staffs were struggling to supply food which were ordered before knowing the demand, resulting in refunds at the end. There were only four tables but had customers worth of eight tables, upon that online deliveries were being made. I don’t see a point of open to online deliveries when the customers waiting at the shops were told to wait/ no food. People look at the SKVP brand and they don’t really look the food reviews there because they know how it will be. Food was very average but I don’t blame staff because they have done their best yesterday. Taste was compromised, they ran out of plates at some point and started to give food in takeaway pots. These things seriously need to be addressed by the management. I was looking for noodles in Hakka noodles (noodles not available, instead they put more onions and cabbage) bhel puri full of sweet. I’m a big fan of SKVP but sad to write this review.

Where Mumbai’s soul meets Birmingham’s streets—one chaat at a time. I recently visited Sri Krishna Vadapav, popularly known as SKVP in Birmingham, and tried a variety of dishes: Aloo Tikki Chaat, Misal Pav, Butter Dabeli, Bhel Puri, Vadapav, and Fried Rice. Overall, the experience was delightful! The Aloo Tikki Chaat, Bhel Puri, and Vadapav were absolutely outstanding—bursting with authentic Mumbai flavours. However, the Misal Pav was below average and lacked authenticity. The Veg Fried Rice unfortunately had a strong unpleasant smell and seemed spoiled. When we raised the issue, the staff responded with genuine concern and offered us a complimentary Chinese Noodles Bhel, which turned out to be much better than the fried rice. Despite the few hiccups, SKVP is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Mumbai-style street food. Prices are reasonable, and the quality of most items is excellent. The dine-in space is quite limited, so most people opt for takeaway. Parking isn’t readily available, but there’s a pay-and-display car park nearby. The ambience add some retro touch. It will give you some Nostalgic Experience. I’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommended for anyone missing the taste of Mumbai!

Been meaning to check this place out for a while. I deliberately went at a quiet time as I wanted to dine in, and the place is absolutely tiny, so I wanted to make sure I got a table. It filled up pretty quick in there too. The set up is that you order at the till, grab a seat, and then wait for your food to be called out so you can collect it. I ordered a few things to try out, the prices were quite good. I had five items and two drinks all for under £25. I like the vibe they've gone for in the back corner, with the old bollywood movie posters, VHS and cassettes as decor, which is definitely like stepping in a time machine for a desi 1980s baby like myself. Food came out quite slow but I didn't mind that at all because it was being freshly prepared. Everything we had was decent, I wasn't expecting it to be anything that good, so I was very pleasantly surprised. My daughter was absolutely raving about the gol gappe, and with the entire menu being vegetarian, I think she'll be going there a few times more!

I ordered around 5:20 in the evening today 26/07/24 on phone at west Bromwich branch And lady says on phone it will take 15/20 mins . I went to shop around 6 o’clock. Staff didn’t let me know anything. I waited there 10 mins and asked them for my order. And lady said it’s not ready. I told her on phone you said 15/20 minutes but now it’s been 45 minutes . Still order not ready? What’s the mean to give order early on phone just because we don’t have to wait. Rude lady said it takes time . I asked how much time you told me 15/20 minutes and now nearly hour . She started showing such a mannerless attitude. Our relatives waiting at home and I was still waiting for my order at shop. Lady was so rude. She don’t know how to speak with customers when it’s their mistake. She was showing attitude. I asked her I want to talk to owner. She said no owner here we only run this. Then I ask who is manager she replied we all manger here. After more then one hour waiting other lady name Parul which shows on my receipt gave me order. I asked Parul please tell me her name who was such a mannerless and rude lady. But Parul refused to give me her name. I told Parul you can’t hide her name if customers want to complaint. But Parul didn’t gave me her name. When I was asking other customers told to her it happened to them as well. And with me this over waiting time happened 3,4 times before as well but this time instead of polite apology she was showing such a bad attitude. I want to give zero star 🌟 for customer service. But not letting me this site.

BUSINESS OWNER : please make sure your staff wear name plates so we know to whom we are talking with. And please make sure you definitely do something about this type of your staff behaviour...

Disappointing Decline in Food Quality and Service

I’ve been a loyal customer since this place first opened, but unfortunately, my recent experiences have been very disappointing. The food, which was once flavorful and delicious, no longer meets the same standard. The taste has significantly declined, and it no longer lives up to the quality I once enjoyed.

Additionally, the service has taken a major downturn. In the past, staff would bring food directly to your table, even if there were only a couple of customers, but now that’s no longer the case. The staff seems slow to take orders, and tables are often left dirty until you specifically ask them to clean. It’s frustrating to see the change in service standards, especially when compared to the attentive and efficient service from the old team.

Another issue I’ve noticed is the inconsistency in how customers are treated. It seems that women are served directly at their tables, while male customers are required to pick up their own orders at the counter, which feels unfair and unprofessional.

The previous staff—especially the team who worked with Kajal and the other girls—were exceptional, both in terms of food quality and customer service. I truly miss the atmosphere they created and the quality of meals they prepared.

I really hope the management takes this feedback seriously. It might be worth considering bringing back the previous staff or providing more training to the current team to improve both the food and the overall...
