"Burgers Beer Coffee Cake" - the four basic food groups. The writing on the wall must date from a previous owner as it does not do justice to the extensive menu with both English as well as Polish dishes available. I arrived at what was very much coffee and cake time but a full Polish breakfast was provided. I've lived and worked in Poland and this was very much a ENG-POL fusion (Polish hotel breakfasts are typically of the disappointing continental cold buffet variety). The coffee was good (better than Coffee One, Kings Heath, yesterday) and the breakfast was better still. Value for money as well. The Polish soundtrack reminded me of happy times in Lower Silesia/Dolny Śląsk

A lovely Polish coffee shop and restaurant. Last Thursday 22nd December we went to Bearwood Lunch Club organised by @Rosiepresents and @Bearwoodbites and the Polish food was superb. I had Polish bread a beautiful stew with butter beans 🫘 and Polish sausage and two other stews one vegetarian and the other with vegetables and Polish sausage. We also had gorgeous Polish potato 🥔 cakes 🎂 which were to die for. A fantastic restaurant and coffee bar AND alcohol 🍸 is served here especially their speciality the fruit Polish vodka! It deserves more accolades this place...it's owner a Pole called Paulina gave us free cake on our first visit with our cappucino Fantastic!

Lovely cakes, donuts and pastries. I think the owner makes them herself, I should've asked. The lemon drizzle was light and tangy. The owner gave us a slice of orange cake to try and that was lovely too. It was a low sugar cake and it tasted really good. The staff were so friendly and the owner was passionate about her cafe and what she has to offer. I always support independent cafés and this woman is the exact reason why. The atmosphere is very relaxed. It's a small space, but I think that's part of the charm. Lightswood Park is just opposite if you want to sit outside. The park has a free car park next to Lightswood House that closes at 6pm.

I have visited and ordered through uber here a fair few times the past couple of years.

I thoroughly recommend visiting as when I last ordered via Uber the order was wholly incorrect.

I had ordered the chicken baguette which is usually top class. It comes with a good portion of fries and is usually quite filling.

This time however, was awful. The baguette was delivered completely different than before and it felt like it was an end of shift throw together meal. The baguette was missing the top half and there were mushrooms and sweetcorn on it this time (despite there being no change listed to the item on their Uber page). Accepting an order that was incomplete and not accurate is a quality control issue as people could be allergic to certain ingredients. To own their inte tonal acceptance of an order they shouldn't, they threw a small cake into the order.

Customers would much rather the order not be accepted if one if going to be sent out half arsed and completely different.

Unfortunately, this has turned me off visiting again and I think other customers should be very cautious of ordering from here.

Update

The restaurant had replied to my review but had to delete and respond as it didn't let me edit. They stated it was a driver mistake and that to come in and have a free meal.

I ordered today (8th March) via uber thinking it couldn't happen again. The whole order was wrong again....that or they lied last time and have changed the order from before.

This reeks of a lack of character and honesty from the restaurant and I can onky recommend AGAINST going or ordering from here. I'm disgusted with their customer service and no doubt will be making a visit to express this in the...

Went in for the first time today thinking it's just another cafe - greasy breakfast blah blah, but boy was I pleasantly surprised! I have been to some of the bigger chains and even the steam room in Harborne but by far the hot chocolate I had was DIVINE! My sausage sandwich was so healthy and posh that I actually didn't even feel like I was binging into my Monday sausage Sarnie guilty pleasure, as my guilty pleasures are having a cafe sausage sandwich every Monday!! This place genuinely made me forget where I was, the ambience, the furniture, the cleanliness and the customer service were all in tip top shape! Baz is extremely passionate about his new business venture and it clearly shows, he wants this business to do well and you can see from first impressions by how much he has invested into this little place but with big ambitions! It is finally really nice to see the kind of cafe you would expect to see in London - from the art displayed on the wall and for sale and the edgy funky tables and seating. Finally there is a place that takes the stereo type away from the typical salmonella type cafes into a whole new dimension at edge cafe. You can see the passion it is displayed right in front of you from welcome to service to the food. Great place - may your business do really well Baz and may you attract the kind of clientele that you aspire to have. Keep up the great work, see you again...

I discovered this gem of a cafe during the Summer. I’d been meaning to visit for ages and I’ve been a very regular customer ever since.

Food: Amazing, hearty and plentiful. Atmosphere: Always friendly and inviting. Dog Friendly: Absolutely! My Guide Dog Pyrgo is a firm favourite with staff and customers.

There is so much to choose from, whether you want traditional English food or extend your tasting journey and go for some delicious Polish food. I’d recommend: Cabbage Roles, which come with a variety of fillings. Beef Stew and Potato Pancakes and of course the Polish breakfast.

Cakes! Did I say cakes? So many. I always end up taking some away for work the next day. My current favourite is probably Apple Cake; Fruit Cake; Flapjack and fruit tarts.

So, go and visit. You can justify all of the eating indulgence as the cafe is right next to Lightwoods Park so you can walk some of the...
