Shumonz Grill was nothing short of extraordinary. As I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm ambiance that hinted at the culinary adventure awaiting me. The menu, rich with Bangladeshi flavors, immediately caught my eye, and I eagerly opted for the Spicy Naga Kebab, Naga Wings, and Deshi Chicken Roast. Each dish promised an authentic taste of home-style Bangladeshi cooking, and I can confidently say that it did not disappoint.
The Spicy Naga Kebab was a revelation. Each bite was bursting with flavor, showcasing the perfect balance of spice and tenderness. The marinade was clearly crafted with care, infusing the meat with a deep, rich taste that was both bold and satisfying. It was apparent that the chefs at Shumonz Grill understand the art of seasoning, as the kebabs were not just spicy but also nuanced, allowing the natural flavors of the meat to shine through.
Next, the Naga Wings arrived, and they were an absolute delight. Crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside, these wings were generously coated in a vibrant, spicy glaze that elevated them to a whole new level. With each bite, the warmth of the spices mingled beautifully with the juicy meat, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. It was impossible not to appreciate the skill involved in crafting such a delicious dish. The attention to detail in preparation was evident, and I found myself savoring every morsel.
The Deshi Chicken Roast was the grand finale of this culinary experience. Served with an appealing presentation, the chicken was perfectly cooked, with a golden-brown skin that looked irresistibly inviting. The meat was juicy and tender, infused with a myriad of spices that spoke to the heart of Bangladeshi cuisine. Each piece was packed with flavor, and the accompanying sides complemented the dish wonderfully, providing a harmonious balance to the meal. It was clear that this dish was prepared with love and authenticity, capturing the essence of home-cooked Bangladeshi meals.
Beyond the food, my experience at Shumonz Grill was enhanced by the exceptional service. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. Their quick service made the meal even more delightful, allowing me to focus on the wonderful flavors being presented to me. It is evident that the team at Shumonz takes pride in both their food and their service, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
In conclusion, my experience at Shumonz Grill was nothing short of amazing. From the tantalizing Spicy Naga Kebab and delectable Naga Wings to the unforgettable Deshi Chicken Roast, each dish was a testament to the rich flavors of Bangladeshi cuisine. I left feeling completely satisfied, with my taste buds thoroughly delighted. I wholeheartedly recommend Shumonz Grill to anyone looking to experience authentic Bangladeshi flavors in a warm and inviting setting. This culinary gem is truly a must-visit for...
Read moreThe restaurant, while small, is very aesthetically pleasing, sticking to a crisp theme of teals, greys and gold, I particularly admire the lanterns that are hanging, they look so gorgeous. The atmosphere shocked me, as in the surrounding area, I will admit, I feel very grossed out sitting down at a table or booth in the nearby fast food places but here, it is always clean and tidy. Perhaps this is the benefit of it being quite small in comparison but even so, the staff are quick to clean when customers do leave a mess behind.
Overall, I would give the atmosphere a five.
Moving on to the service, the staff are quick to respond to your orders, they are polite and make no fuss, which you would think is the bare minimum these days. For the quality of food, the wait time is quite short, and I have had no issues ordering whatsoever, so in conclusion, the service is equally fantastic.
Finally, the main review, the food. The food at Shumonz is of the best quality in our town area, I have never gone back to a restaurant so many times. Admittedly, if you do order over the phone, it can get quite pricey, so I'd recommend ordering in store. The best menu item, in my opinion, is their Spicy Naga Dip burger. Spicy, seasoned, well-cooked chicken with crunchy lettuce and mayo to help the spice, for £3.50 (for an extra pound you can get it with chips). The chips were excellently cooked as well, not too oily or greasy, not necessarily crunchy if that's what you're interested in, but what really elevated them was the sauce.
The chilli sauce they offer is very minty, but the highlight sauce is their special sauce, which is orange, the tangy, spicy flavour adds to the chips and is fantastic. I also ordered a Shumonz special, the lamb naga kebab, which is again, fantastic with chips for £5 (when I ordered, I think I got a student discount without asking, so credits for that because I do remember the price being £7.50). Again, no complaints.
The one issue I've had with the food was a one time incident of the chicken wings being undercooked, but after ordering the same item multiple times after, I will say, it has improved and this hasn't occurred again, but just in case, keep that in mind.
Overall, Shumonz is my favourite restaurant tied down next to Nando's, would recommend for everyone and I will always come back to...
Read moreBEST takeaway in West Bromwich!! I’ve tried many around central brom but by far the food here is the freshest and most authentic and lovingly made, the staff are friendly and accommodating and after buying various items from the menu over past year, I can safely say that although a business, they are more about serving the community with a smile. Noor demonstrates excellent customer service and efficiency and my favourites are keema rice, chicken supreme tower burger and the veg curries are wholesome! If you’re in this town, don’t hesitate to try because you won’t be...
