Been using 88 for many years now. I know 6 families in Ayr alone who regularly use 88 rather than other similar establishments in the area as the food quality is consistent and no issues at all. I tend to and few of my family members and pals prefer to order in "non peak times" esp on a frid/sat evening. We prefer to order when there isn't an influx of orders on a frid/sat night at peak times.
I think it's absolutely so unfair, rude and selfish to expect your order, however small or big etc to be given to U at the shop counter or via delivery service in a "normal" time frame. It's PEAK time so what's gonna happen is 88 kitchen staff are put under immense immediate pressure to get all food out fast, fast, faster ! They are working in a small shop, it's a small business, they can't cook your food faster than what they can ....unless U all wanna pay extra to employ robots to do it to the speed of lighting?!
Give them a break please, do u think it's easy, simple and a great experience to slave away all day preparing food, then at 4pm onwards on a frid sat to cook to your specific requirements : no onions, extra onions, no peas, extra peas, bigger, smaller, this way, that way ? Nah.... doesn't sound that simple eh ?
It gets up my nose when people get the meals delivered by the hard working delivery drivers who have to navigate the traffic, park in a safe place, up down, stairs and lifts like a yo yo and they get verbally abused saying U have been waiting too long etc ? Don't shoot the messenger......drivers can only start when they get the goods in their hands and the more people complaining esp on a frid sat evening at peak times doesn't help does it ?!
Yes it would be fab if we all got our orders asap exactly the time we want but heh ....... You ain't cooking it and if 50 other orders phone at the same time thinking the same......? Yeah.....bit of a nightmare eh ?
Solution:
Try to, if possible to order at a non peak time. If U order at peak time expect a much longer significant wait as there will be 50 other orders thinking the same as U. If they employ more kitchen staff or do renovations to make the kitchen bigger to accommodate the extra staff, they need to buy more cooking equipment etc. Would we all want another £10 extra added to our order as 88 would have to recuperate their expenses of expansion?! Nah ....... Didn't think so. Think before you do bad reviews on the spur of the moment to let off a moan......these poor reviews give 88 a more difficult time in getting the customers in, to break even or make a small profit in order to do any possible extra staff hiring ! Catch 22. If we all and esp the people who post bad reviews moaning re time it takes to get your food........ Think how difficult it must be to run the shop on much increased costs esp gas, electric, price of raw ingredients and suppliers upping their base prices but the owner trying not to add the increase to your bill. To be honest I am surprised they haven't already upped their prices even more significantly! Let's all try to support a small business and be nice eh ? Don't get me wrong it's ok to leave a bad review on a genuine reason in any shop but waiting times re food ....... I think would that review help 88 long term to shorten your wait time ? Instead of the whole of Ayr esp on a frid sat night throughout the year.....try ordering on another day when there is less pressure in the kitchen. Does everyone REALLY need to eat only on a Friday Saturday night at the same time ?? Now it's Thursday night I am gonna treat myself to a nice chicken breast curry and fried rice at 88 now and I am gonna enjoy it because ordering tonight is better than ordering it at frid/sat pm with all U lot at the...
