Appalling. I came with my step-daughter visiting from Yorkshire and already a fan. She ordered the gluten free (the main reason for the visit) sloppy Giuseppe. I opted for the BBQ, the pizza was far too big. Not everyone is a long distance lorry driver; it was over-facing. It was not an attractive presentation. The pizza cutter did not cut. Simply negotiating a cut resulted in lots of sticky residue on fingers, flatware (the knife was as effective as the cutter) and the napkin was now useless. If you have small children who cannot use cutlery or you just have to eat with your fingers, this is your go-to place. I left two thirds of the pie, it was simply too much trouble to eat. The waiter cleared and A) did not query if there something wrong with the pizza. B) did not offer to box-it-to-go. On the food itself, the base needed salt, don't use flour without salt. The toppings were sparse, and overall, apart from the messiness, it was just very disappointing, but I lived in America for several years and have visited Italy so perhaps my expectations are somewhat unreasonable. My step-daughter was perfectly satisfied with her meal; this was her choice and her treat, I was hugely embarrassed about sending back an almost complete dish but one cannot eat purely...
Read moreThought we wouldn't go wrong with a Pizza Express on our trip as we get this often in London but was very disappointed. To start with we waited a while to be seated as nobody was there to serve us, we had to move seats and the person next to us was clearly sick and constantly snorting, sneezing and coughing everywhere with no hand in sight, the person that served us seemed miserable also had dirty fingernails which is not acceptable in a food establishment and generally had an unkept look (not saying you have to dress up for work but if you are working with food at least look presentable), the food took a while to arrive almost an hour and sadly it was not up to scratch we could tell one of our dishes was sat out on the side for a while as it had a 'film' over the top and when bringing the pizza over the other waitress had her finger on the pizza when putting it on the table. Luckily we had many rewards built up so the food was cheap but we wouldn't return as hygiene is clearly...
Read moreWent to Pizza Express in Stirling at lunchtime today with 2 elderly people in their 70s and 80s. One was in a small mobility scooter (electric wheelchair).
The restaurant wasn't busy as there were only 4 customers in the restaurant at the time. To make things easy for the lady in the mobility scooter I moved a chair so she could sit at one of the tables with easiest access. The waitress immediately came over and instead of offering any assistance she was hostile and said "You can't sit there it's a table for six". Despite explaining that the elderly lady was in a mobility scooter the waitress insisted that we couldn't sit there despite the table not being reserved and there were no other customers waiting to be seated.
I thanked her for her demonstration of how to run a successful business and instead we went to a nearby Vietnamese restaurant where the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating.
I think your staff need a crash course in how to provide good...
