We had two wonderful dinners at Bombay Blues during our 5-day stay in the city. Both times, the wait staff were extremely understanding and amenable to our dietary requirements and made sure to customise certain dishes for us to suit our dietary restrictions and palates, and the results were delicious. Over the two days, we had, between the four of us, the Goan Salmon curry, prawn curry, kadai sabzi, jeera lemon rice, aloo paratha, papdi chaat (especially fantastic!), pani puri, tadka dal, and the thali. A special mention must go to the yummy garlic naan in the thali, the perfectly seasoned channa masala, the flavourful tadka dal, as well as the decadent gajar halwa and kheer sweet dishes, which were extremely authentic, made with top quality ghee, very lightly sweetened (which suited us perfectly) and utterly soul satisfying. The only thing missing from the kheer, for 100% authenticity, was perhaps a smidge of cardamom and/or saffron, and some ghee-roasted cashewnuts in the gajar halwa. All in all, two very tasty and thoroughly enjoyable meals at Bombay Blue, and we'd be happy to return again in the future the next time we visit Glasgow. Very good value for money and a genuinely warm and joyful experience for all of us.

As students living far from our parents and native place in India, we often find ourselves craving food that brings back the warmth and comfort of home. For me and my friends, Bombay Blue has become that special place it’s our little taste of home in a foreign land. This month alone marks our 10th visit, and every single time, the experience has been nothing short of amazing. The food is not only delicious but also feels healthy and made with love just like how it would be back home. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always greet us with a smile, making us feel like we belong. It’s more than just a restaurant; it’s become our go-to spot, especially on those days we’re too tired to cook or are simply missing home a little extra. Bombay Blue isn’t just about the food it’s about the feeling. A feeling of comfort, familiarity, and joy. Truly, it has become our home away from home.

Lovely evening with very delicious food served. Spicy pani puri with Desi hot Pani 😍. Five stars for best served pani puri in Glasgow ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Update: Recently visited in December 2024 Staff and chef accommodated and helped custom made a food for vegan needs which did not compromise the food taste or flavours of the food at all! Kudos! However the owner of the restaurant in suit (who probably was very drunk) yelled at their very friendly and very kind staff. It was very disturbing to see the staff not being treated fairly. It also affects the ambience for the customers who only are there to have the tasty food and good time with their friends and family.

Hired these guys for my brothers wedding last year and it was a complete and utter shambles. * Please be advised me and my family gave Manjit at Bombay Blues ample opportunity to rectify his mistakes and take ownership, but he has done nothing.* Please read the following before even contemplating hiring this company and parting with your hard earned money:

UNTIMELY: They didn’t arrive on time (literally missed the start of the drinks reception and was therefore left on us, the wedding party, to set up the foyer!)

NOT WHO WE HIRED: When they did arrive it wasn’t Bombay Blues who we had contractually hired but a completely different company they outsourced to without even telling us!

UNSAFE: Random men from this company arriving at the venue, who never once introduced themselves, made me and other females feel uncomfortable and unsafe.

IRRESPONSIBLE: They delayed the arrival of table cloths which delayed decor and set up from happening on the day. (Allegedly this was a revenge tactic as we didn’t go with their recommended decor company!)

-NON EXISTENT COMMUNICATION: Bombay Blues were pretty much non existent in communications between us as clients and the wedding venue who also had attempted to contact Manjit on various occasions with no response. By also outsourcing our event on the day to another company, this other company didn’t seem to have a clue about everything that Manjit was privy to via email (ie layout, drinks set up, running order and timings on the day)

DOUBLE BOOKED: I was told personally by a member of this other company that was in attendance on the day that the reason they were called to our event is because Manjit had a far bigger event to manage on the same night in Glasgow. We were made to feel that we were treated and catered for far less because our event was more intimate.

FOOD & SERVICE: This was by far the biggest disappointment. When you are told by numerous guests that they didn’t get to try the canapés, and even members of the wedding party, this was a complete travesty. Our attendees were less on the day so there should have been more surplus food. There was also very limited service staff for the numbers of guests so the wait and service was extremely slow. Some of the food, particularly the kebabs were overcooked and dry bordering on inedible. As for the main meals, the presentation left little to be desired for. Measly portions for large tables, and two complaints of hair in food too. There were special meals for the children that we as the family had organised in advance and told Manjit about. This information wasn’t communicated to this other company and so service again was sporadic and disorganised. The desserts were meant to be freshly made. What was served was defrosted tarts that were genuinely the most disgusting chewy thing I have ever eaten.

SERVING STAFF: serving staff were in a complete rush to get food off the table. Guests hadn’t finished eating! Me and a few other guests had to ask the servers to refill these measly platters. Like there was a reluctance to provide more food. It was clear seeing how little food was left over at the end of the night that they clearly didn’t make enough.

I could carry on and talk about the lack of customer care etc but I will stop. Please DO NOT use this company. If you need any more information please don’t hesitate...

I will give minus rating for this restaurant. I went on my birthday with my family and kid 3 + years old. My son is naughty as usual and started wondering here n there in restaurant. So waiter came to our table and shouted at innocent child if you don't behave , will ask to leave hotel. I thought he was kidding at the kid. But this happened one more time. Once my son was slightly hitting spoon on table , so waiter came and talked rudely to me that it is giving hair crack to his table when it was not damaging. Then his other staff came and took away all the spoons from our table and again shouted at my son to leave the hotel.

This time I got frustrated but still decided to finish lunch as soon as possible. So I went to get some food and he came to me and said that others are complaining about my child. No body was complaining about my child but he wanted us to leave the restaurant. So he sent another man to our table and handed over bill to us.

When I went to him why he has given the bill he again said it is disturbing others.Don't that idiot know that children are like that only. Just for favor of other white people waiter was behaving this way with us. It is in blood/genetics of almost all Indians to lick toes of white people and this guy is more than that when no one was complaining. I took bill to him he again said that others are complaining when half of the tables by our side were vacant. So we ate half of the food/drink and decided to leave the restaurant. When I asked him about the bill he charged us for the full. For a child also they charged full. They spoiled my birthday afternoon.

You do not have great food but other came to you just cause it is one of the few Indian restaurant in Glasgow city. You should learn some manners and stop licking toes of other white peoples. You have setup restaurant here and not a mansion. You are just servant of other customers and should learn manners on how to behave with kids.I do not have time to sue you in court but if I do will make sure to tarnish...

We do like this place very much . I am writing this review not for the food but for the service.

Yesterday we felt very unwelcomed by the 2 younger gentlemen handling the service. It all started as we walked in , and i informed the waiter that we are vegetarians and will go for the buffet meal. He immediately quoted the price for which i felt insulted ( as if i could not afford to pay) ( i clarified this in the end as i was leaving, he explained that it was policy to tell the customers the price for the buffet). Anyways , i also told him since the buffet options for vegetarian is just 2 mains usually we get 2 extra from the management, for which he told us he will only give us 1. I did not press any further. We sat to dine. Not once did he enquire about the food or the service provided, but he was falling over the "GORE" patrons asking every now and then if they were OK.

Remember MY Friend - Your skin is as brown as mine.

Walking out after our meal and having PAID what ever was billed, my wife expressed displeasure over the waiters attitude, for which he commented to his fellow person that we were unhappy since we were not given the Two free veggie dishes we requested in the beginning.

My friend a little FREE Advice - make all customers welcome. Goes a long way in your line of business. I can afford To dine in your restaurant for years together as i earn way better( hope you can understand where i am getting at).

Attitude is the only requirement in Customer service. " Customer is King".

Hope the management will check this. We will never step into this establishment for the above. Also just because of one bad apple, i will not discredit the others. The older gentleman who care about this place are well mannered and humble. I like all the other guys.

We did not want to pick a fight yesterday and we left peacefully even after such comments...
