This is the "go to" place for all things medicinal - since I was a wee boy and was dragged into Boots (my first encounter being when it was then a huge store on the corner of Argyll and Union Street) at the slightest sniff, scratch or pimple ... they were synonymous with trust, care and knowledge - a bit like politicians used to be thought of (only a long, long time ago). This branch has recently installed self service tills, and you feel it is more akin to Sainsbury's only with drugs and sanwiches. On the pharmacy side, if you can avoid Methadone Mick and and the obligatory mouthy moll, tourists looking to purchase train tickets and souvenir hats (seriously) then the staff are "brand new", polite, informative, discrete and professional at all times. You just need a mirror in there, a small one anywhere - I had to shock Connor by asking him how my lipstick...
