First visit and not the last
Firstly, the decor, wow, a lot of work has gone into transforming this venue. I loooove the art deco look of the bars. The deep blue and light blue in the main bar is so chic with the fixed seating colour matched. The dining area is slightly sectioned off and is a lush peacock green. Both colours used in the venue with the touch of dark finishes and the marble look of the tables just pull the venue together and make it so chic and inviting.
The food, omg the food.
We had the salt and chilli calamari and bao buns to start. Calamari was cooked perfectly, and its sweet flavour was not lost in the chilli or aioli it just left a slight heat in your mouth. The bao buns were fluffy and packed with freshness.
The main event, I kinda knew I was coming for their tomahawk, and it didn't take much to convince Ally. With the option of two sides and two sauces, we went for onion rings, mac, peppercorn sauce, and chimichurrri. Wow wow wow. When it came to the table,we were blown away. The meat had a lovely sear and just the right level of char, cooked to perfection (med-rare). The meat just melted like butter, no need for a steak knife!!!! Sides were delish, and the peppercorn sauce was lovely. My only critique is that the chimichurri was served in a jug, meaning the heavy ingredients sank to the bottom and was oily when pouring, so I had to fish out the main ingredients. I do prefer my chimichurri to be more on the salsa Verde consistency but still lovely flavours.
We shouldn't have, but we did. We were piggies and had dessert, their evening special of chocolate mousse. This NEEDS TO STAY it was velvety, rich and indulgent
Portions were very, very good.
There was a piano player on ,and it just elevated the atmosphere, really lovely touch.
The staff were so lovely and we had a great...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with this place. I booked Bond for my husbands birthday, I explained this when I booked. The restaurant was extremely quiet and there was only people at one time other table. We nearly left at this point as the atmosphere was non-existent and we didn’t receive a warm welcome, no smile, no happy birthday just a flat greeting. We ordered the chateaubriand and asked for a bottle of Malbec. I couldn’t believe it when they brought out a bottle that you can get in Sainsbury’s for £8.50! They charged us £35!!! You would expect charging such premium prices they would have a premium supplier. We were really just trying to enjoy our night but the vibe was there that this place just isn’t good. The music was also not what you would expect in such a restaurant, songs like Skater Boy by Avril Lavigne came on. Then the food came out. It looked well presented and we had high hopes but only to be disappointed again. The chateaubriand was absolutely tasteless! My first bite was chewy and tough! We have this in other restaurants in Glasgow where the meat is to perfection but this was just awful in comparison. Our bill was nearly £200, we were definitely ripped off here and we will never be back. Love all the restaurants in The Village so disappointing we didn’t like this one. I would love the owner to really take this feedback and act on it as I think this place has huge potential but sheer greed will shut...
Read moreUndoubtedly the best dining in East Kilbride. Joe welcomed us at the door, and our server Luke was warm and attentive, checking in regularly to make sure our glasses were topped up and we were happy throughout the evening.
Food arrived promptly and was the best 3 courses that either me or my partner can remember. My calamari was cooked perfectly and wasn't the usual springy overcooked mess that is fairly common. Kimberley's goats cheese salad was amazing, and we remain confused as to how cheese and beetroot can be so tasty.
We got the tomahawk steak to share between us, and Kim is now disappointed that every steak following this one wont live up to Bond's. Medium rare, cooked perfectly and the accompaniments have just as much care and effort into making them delicious. And, if you like creme brulee, try it here and it'll put a smile in your face.
David the bartender was also just as impressive. His knowledge and craftsmanship of his drinks are top notch, and he was even willing to make some bespoke orders to cater to our preferences.
After our meal, Luke took us to the lounge to enjoy the ambiance of the pianist playing on the mini grand piano.
It's clear to us Luke, David and the rest of Bond put all their care and efforts into Bond, and we were delighted with our evening. We will be back in a week or two to discover the rest...
