I ordered soup of day - tomato and pepper. Mature cheddar and onion tart, wild mushroom risotto, onion rings and coffee latte.

Soup of day served with bread and butter. Waitress tell me it is not spicy but it's were. Inside black pepper and it's was not tasty for me.

Mature cheddar and onion tart served with fresh shoots of young peas, were tasty for me.

Wild mushroom risotto were awful. Leek and rice wasn't ready. Rice scratched my teeth. The leek was impossible to chew. The mushrooms were not washed well enough, so several times I felt sand on my teeth.

Onion rings not tasty. The dough is not tasty and too greasy.

Coffee latte were tasty with brown sugar.

Despite the fact that the restaurant was half empty, I was served unreasonably long.

I expected more from this place.

I back here, because I wanted try potato gnocchi and macaroni cheese.

So I ordered potato gnocchi, macaroni cheese and chamomile tea.

Macaroni cheese served with seasoned chips and fresh salad. Salad look not nice, so I did not touch it, but macaroni and chips were tasty. Simple and tasty. Thank you.

Potato gnocchi were awful. They were half raw and not tasty. Other vegetables in dish was just ok. Not tasty for me.

Chamomile tea was tasty. Hope it is not possible spoil simple tea.

The second time the waiters served me much faster and were more friendly.

So in this place I can order just macaroni cheese with chips and onion tart. Macaroni cheese available just from 12pm to 4pm in summer and from 12pm to...

We came up from Glasgow and were having an amazing night all night with my partner going out a few times as he smokes. He was talking to the bouncer all night and near the end of the night he decided to tell my partner he was going to put him out earlier in the night. My partner was a bit confused by this as they were fine all night. He told him he wasn't getting back in and when my partner asked to get me or if they would go with him or get me himself he was told no. My partner got angry by this point as he only wanted to get me to leave. He was then restrained said bouncer kept saying I'm phoning the police and I'm going to get you the jail tonight. My partner told him to phone the police. He was told to relax while they pushed his arm up his back which was obviously hurting him so couldn't relax, this has resulted in his shoulder being injured. When the police came I had just got outside and they had no problem with my partner and could see he was being reasonable and actually questioned what they were doing there. Think you need to have a look at your security, I don't know if he decided he didn't like my partners accent or what it was but his behaviour was unacceptable. My partner ended up shouting at him as we walked away which I do not condone in anyway whatsoever but I understand his anger in the matter when he was not allowed back in for no reason and couldn't even get to me to let me know what was going on, even if he wasn't allowed back in the security could have came and got...

Absolutely loved our food. We had a bit of a wait so they came to fetch us at the bar. The Hostess was incredible - never once lost her patience with anyone despite being a busy night. The food was also incredible - haven't been so happy about a meal in ages. Now, one thing - there was a £2.50 charge to split a tiny little £7.50 slice of cheesecake which we were not made aware of and I happened to see on our bill. We'd already had a drink each waiting to be seated, starters and mains - I don't find it particularly appropriate to eke out an additional £2.50 from us if you're not even making the portion a bit bigger just because I wanted a bite of my partner's cheesecake. Doesn't cost £2.50 to wash a spoon. At the very least it would be kind to make folks aware they'll be charged. I won't knock down the rating for £2.50, though. The food was incredible and so was the service of both our hostess and our bartender. No complaints about wait staff either, they were run off their feet. Thanks for a great experience, and hope the feedback is helpful.

Edit: we've been informed a split is a drink (essentially)! It's great to have this clarity, but as I recall having settled our drinks at the bar I believe this may have been added mistakenly, leading to our assumption that it was from splitting the dessert. No harm done, like I said above, it's £2.50 - and it's good to know what...

Several locals in Inverness told us that we could not leave the town without trying Johnny Foxes, so we made sure to pick a time to go there, which turned out to be mid-afternoon. They were fairly busy, but still had available tables, and we were seated right away. I tried a pint of Innis and Gunn, and for starters we ordered the Haggis and Neep spring rolls and the West Coast Mussels. Both of these were excellent and the perfect way to start the meal. For our main course we tried the Nessie Burger, the Potato Gnocchi, a Margherita pizza, and the Foxes Steak and Guinness Pie. We didn't have to wait very long for our food. Every dish was superb, with the steak pie a true standout. Our server checked on us frequently throughout the meal, and other servers also would occasionally ask if we needed anything; it was some of the best service we'd had on our entire trip. The atmosphere of the pub was charming and classic, the staff friendly and helpful, and the view /location excellent. I agree with the locals, this is a must visit location for any trip to Inverness.
