Curious Liquids — Restaurant in Scotland

I have previously rated Curious Liquids a 5* and I have enjoyed several visits. However, after a break, my recent experience was poor. I had a voucher from my birthday to use and I was very excited to introduce my partner to the place. Unfortunately, however, it was a really poor experience compared to previous visits. The staff seemed to really be pushing a 'blended' wines list and the two wines we were both recommended, based on our described tastes, were poor. I don't understand yhis approach.

On my previous visits, the owner had personally made recommendations and they were spot on. This time, however, both of us left without finishing our glasses. I'm now reluctant to return to or recommend one of my previous favoute...

This is my favourite spot in Shawlands! My husband and I love coming here for a glass of wine in the afternoon. The staff are all so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about wine and always have great recommendations. The wine list is varied and changes regularly - I’ve literally never had anything I didn’t like here. They always have a great selection of cheese and snacks too. Really enjoy trying new wines and the atmosphere here is just wonderful. Background music is always excellent too and it’s dog friendly. Just a perfect place to spend a few hours! Have been to this establishment before to purchase my wine and it was a pleasant experience but today was totally different , spoke to the assistant ,asking him to point me in the right direction for a bottle of passamento wine ,which he did , I pointed out to him that it was £5 more than Magestic wine charge , which he replied very rudely ,”Well go there then “and marched off, what has happened to customer service , all he had to do was recommended something else !
