James Tassie — Restaurant in Scotland

Thought I would try here for a change with my mum and children. It was lovely outside so we wanted to sit near the front but away from the smokers outside, We picket a table which was behind a partition and you can still see outside. As we went to sit the man from behind the bar shouted "can you find another table they're dirty" (It only needed a wipe!) So we found a table at the back Order our meals at the bar sat back down, When the meals came out I was a bit disappointed that with mine and my mums we orded the 2 course for £6.99 my mum got 2 chicken strip with lettuce and Scampi chips and loads of peas. (only 5 bits of scampi) I ordered the scampi too (5 bits again) and I got the pudding, the custard was nice. my son got ice cream but I have to go and ask for them as we waited 25-30 mins after finishing our mains my son was getting restless. My only issue was the guy behind the bar shouting over to us about the table (my child has additional needs and something like that could upset him) He could have let us sit down and came over and wiped it down. The amount of scampi and the wait...

Should have taken a photo, but will give it another chance. Had fish and chips and a pint of Ts. 9 quid. Superb pricing ! Fair play! Will come here again and again as I just moved to Shawlands. But, that lovely piece of cod, why did the chef destroy it by overcooking it to biscuit mode ? And why only two tea spoons of mushy peas ? And why only 14 chips? I literally counted them! And what's with the McDonalds paper tiny pots of tartar sauce? And no lemon, that's it! It kicked off there, I had to do the review!! The photo on the menu looks lovely, why not respecting that guys ? I'll give the menu (food options) including the pints choice 5 star. I'll give the sad, robotic guy who served me 3 stars. He was just as dry as the fish. And I'll give the ambiance and the pub set out 4 stars!! Will be in there at least 3 nights a week...

I come to the Tassies for a cheap pint during the week and the staff are mostly good, however, there is one tattooed male member of staff in particular who always seems to be on a power trip. I've been IDd by him on 5 separate occasions, once when I was buying a coke, despite looking over the age of 25. Regardless, I reluctantly showed it on every occasion except tonight when I told him that I refuse and will take my custom elsewhere. His reason on the occasion I was buying a coke was that it's because children aren't allowed into the bar, despite there being a woman in having a meal with her kids at the same time. At no other point has any other member of staff IDd me, including the manager, so I'm unfortunately left to conclude that this particular individual is acting in a...
