Good service and friendly staff, however there are some downsides. Went there a few days ago and enjoyed a double espresso with a wee pistacchio pastry. It was fine, however I have tried better coffees in Glasgow. My espresso came in a flat white cup, which I don't really understand. It should have come on its correspondent cup size. This café does not offer free wifi, so be aware that there is no chance to connect your laptop to the internet. Overall my experience was very good and the staff were very friendly. The only downsides are those above mentioned.

Have been here a few times for both their rolls and salad bowls. Always to a high standard. Slightly more expensive than the average in the area but have never been disappointed. Halloumi/egg rolls and chicken salad bowl are recommended. Seemingly the coffee is quite good too but I don't dabble in that. Can be a queue sometimes at the weekend so bear that in mind if you are in a rush (this might be better now with more things opening up).

Never sat down and ate here before so decided to go for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I mean it's pretty tight for seating but this leads to a lovely, friendly atmosphere. Attentive, happy staff made it even better and the food... I had Italian sausage, cannelloni beans with egg on a bit of bread and it was delicious. Full of flavour and tasty. The cakes looked good too but I didn't try. Would defo go back.

My visit here today was a trip down memory lane and a real blast from my past. I worked as a waitress here 40 years ago when I was 16 years old! It was lovely to see Leonora and Marissa and recognise them instantly. Their parents would be SO proud of them, knowing how they had continued and developed their family business. The food was delicious, generous and reasonably priced for such lovely food. I would definitely recommend this cafe to my friends. My companion today, who goes to lots of cafes in the West End, East End and Merchant City was really impressed and delighted by his pollo milanese sandwich. I am not often on the Southside these days as I am a West Ender now but whenever I am in that area I will pop in for another delicious brunch and a lovely warm welcome from Leonora, Marissa and her family. Congratulations on your successful business....

The staff in Gizzi are very friendly and the food is good quality and very well presented and the coffee is top notch. I ordered a mozzarella and pesto ciabatta, which was nice but also cold – pre lockdown they used to toast the sandwiches and serve them with a side salad, but apparently no longer. It's disappointing but tolerable.

Very early closing times during the week can mean that on busier days, it might not be possible to get a table in time for closing as the place is tiny. The menu post-Covid is also sadly not as varied as it used to be and is quite expensive – £8 for a ciabatta with mozzarella, pesto, and cherry tomatoes! Still, it's one of the better cafés in Shawlands thanks to the...

Gizzi's is a family owned and run Italian coffee shop in the heart of the Southside of Glasgow.

As well as coffee, you'll find a Italian dishes, cakes and pastries on offer too.

I always find myself ordering a coffee with some pizza or pasta dish. Oh and if you're looking for breakfast/brunch they have a range of great options for you.

The inside is petite which some consider a drawback but I think it adds to the local, intimate feeling that's lost in larger places.

I highly recommend to locals as a place to convene regularly and for travellers to check out if they...
