Stopped off here for some lunch with our dog. A pleasant young man brought water for the dog & offered her to bring her a treat but we declined as our dog screws her nose up at most of them. Ordered 2 of the 'special' toasties. Roast chicken, cheese & chilli jam. The chunks of chicken just fell out & could hardly taste the jam. Nice pot of tea & hubby had a cafetiere of coffee. Gave us a small dash of milk but readily supplied more. I used the loo afterwards & was disappointed at the state of the food prep area. I saw the young man eating something at the food prep area & then he took an order out. He wasn't wearing any gloves & I did not see any hand hygiene. Very off-putting. The toilets were unisex and shabby. Such a shame really as I don't think I would go back & it was pretty expensive for what we got. £21 We were appreciative that it was dog friendly as this can...

Fantastic food at this busy tourist hotspot.

We had to leave a phone number and wait 20-30 minutes for a table, but it was well worth it!

Ethiopian lentil soup, absolutely delicious, a little spicy, great flavour. Really good. 9/10 Chicken and bacon toastie on brown bread, really nice, fresh flavours, toasted to perfection. I had this with a side of the ethiopian soup 9/10 Cheese toastie, check out that cheese pull! Need I say more? 9/10 Hot chocolate, copious amounts of whipped cream and marshmallows went down a treat with our youngest lunch guest. Good stuff 8/10.

Overall I was very impressed with the food, the waiting staff were perfectly attentive, and the bill came in at only £27 for 3 -...

Ok can be get too busy, went with my daughter, we sat down on the only seat available and was asked to move by a young guy as it was reserved which it wasn't, he gave the table to 3 people and we were asked to sit beside the front door, which I hate as it's cold and constant traffic which is annoying, hate when small cafes squeeze an extra tables in, food ok the soups are good homemade by owner, when there's any left, more choice however it's only a coffee house,...

Arrived with my partner for coffee and a quick bite to eat before touring Stirling Castle. Great value for money and the food was excellent. The staff were very good too. Lovely wee place with a low vaulted ceiling, in keeping with the local area. Popular with locals and tourists, and pet friendly. While we were with a couple were in with their dog, and the staff supplied treats and a bowl of water for the dog. They also have vegan and gluten free options.

Today's lunch visit at Darnley Coffee House was fantastic. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and promptly got our dog a bowl with water and some treats. Big spacious tables and very short wait for food are a great bonus. The food was very good, I loved the soup, and staff were lovely. With right prices and within walking distance from Stirling castle, this place is certainly recommended!
