This is a very simple restaurant with tables and chairs, padded benches down one wall. Big Nepal photos on one wall and a running slide show of someoneās holiday in Nepal to give a bit of interest. There are two entrances, one on South Methven Street and one at the back from the Scott Street car park, so if coming by car thatās the place to park. We had a voucher for dinner at 6pm for 2 mains, a rice and a nan. We decided to try starters as well. Sheek kebab and haggis pakora were ordered along with lamb sekuwa and chicken chatti kukhura. The haggis pakora was a single cut of haggis and covered in spicy crumbs and sauce. Amazing taste, so unexpected. The kebabs were lamb and chicken and tasty and spicy. Our main meals were delivered in serving dishes along with the rice and slices of nan for easy sharing. We picked dishes we had never had before and weāre not disappointed. They were flavours we hadnāt had before. The usual Indian dishes are all available but try the unfamiliar ones, you might not get another chance to try them. Easy to see why they won the Scottish curry award for 2022. Everest beer on sale as well as a few wine choices. The service is friendly and attentive and a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou cannot go wrong with the Everest Inn. The staff are beautifully trained and the food is exquisite. On one occasion, I had arrived for dinner with a big craving for aubergine, but my favourite dish wasn't on the menu. I asked our waiter about it and he went to the kitchen to speak to the chef, who then made a delicious aubergine dish, just for me! Aside from the many meat dishes, there are plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from. We chose to book for lunch, as we quite fancied the tapas (or thali) menu. We were absolutely spoilt for choice - the range of tastes is wide. I had planned to take photos of the six tapas dishes ordered, but forgot all about this when the beautifully presented meal arrived! Don't YOU forget about the dessert menu - Mmm - try something different, they are all wonderful! We decided upon Pistachio Kulfi and a Limoncello Sundae. I can't wait to return! We've been to Everest Inn many times and the high quality of each dining experience has always been maintained. I certainly consider it to be one of the city's finest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDefinitely not a place for vegetarians. Non veg options could be better but veg gravy was disappointing. Very sour gravy, under seasoned, under flavored and undercooked. We even tried veg Momo, which was average.
Edit update -. We started with just one gravy, hoping to add more to our order if we like the flavours. We had traveled for long hours and wanted to have something to fill our stomach, so we finished the food as we didn't have the energy to find another restaurant nor did we want to risk trying another gravy. A basic veg gravy wasn't up to the mark so avoided going for anything else. So, we just finished that small portion of food. Also, we hate wasting food when we have paid for it.
In the end, I did find the courage to tell the waiter about the disappointing flavors. But he didn't care and didn't even respond ( literally no response). So...
